Bad Blood

The night was cold and Frank’s shoes were starting to fill up with puddle water. He tightened his grip on his jacket but the leather did barely anything to stop the cold wind from getting in.

He was currently on his way home from work. His buddy Brian Schechter owned a bar The Lucky Rabbits Foot and Frank worked there with his best friends Bob Bryar, Mikey Way, Ray Toro and James Dewees.

He really wished he had his car at that point but it was in the shop so Frank had to put up with buses and walking for the moment.

Bob did offer him a ride home but Frank lived in a completely different direction from him so declined. He kind of wished he accepted now but there was no changing it now. If he got sick from the weather he knew Brian would kill him and Ray would mother him but he would get some pity comics from Mikey so it wasn’t all bad.

Bang!

Frank froze, his train of thought smashing into a million pieces and blowing away in the wind- not literally. He was next to an alleyway, a dark and foreboding looking alleyway that just made a loud noise.

He was just about to carry on his way when there was another noise, like someone was crushing beer cans under their feet. The last time Frank went to investigate an alleyway he found an abandoned kitten- which was now rehomed and healthy- but this time round could always be a killer. Or Jason. Weren’t they the same thing though?

Before Frank could decide any further on what to do a frightfully pale hand shot out from the darkness and wrapped around his throat, pulling him in.

He opened his mouth to scream but another hand clamped over said mouth firmly.

“Sh… It will all be over soon.” A rough voice spoke in his ear, hot breath fanning over its shell and making goose bumps rise all over his body.

Frank struggled but the man tightened his grip from around Frank’s throat making him go still.

Then, pain. Pain spread through his neck making him yell out but the sound was muffled due to the hand on his mouth. Frank started struggling again, his neck burning and throbbing and this time he managed to get away.

The man started making coughing noises and disgusted grunts. Frank still couldn’t see but that didn’t stop him from backing away from the man. He had a hand clamped over his neck which was wet- blood- and throbbing.

“What the fuck?!” Came an incredulous yell from the darkness. Frank’s back hit a wall and in the slight moonlight he could see the mysterious man move closer to him.

“Do you know how disgusting your blood is? I mean of course it would be, anyone with Anaemia has gross blood. Ugh, don’t you take Iron Pills? You’re very unhealthy you know.” The man ranted.
Frank blinked in confusion. Was he really getting a lecture from the person who tried to eat him?

A car passed and the head lights provided Frank with a couple of seconds to see the man’s face. He was pale, that was for sure. He had rather long and unkempt black hair and blood was smeared over his mouth. The thing that caught Frank’s attention most though was the two fangs coming from his mouth. The dude- vampire dude? - looked extremely annoyed and unamused.

Black spots appeared in his vision and his head felt heavy. He slumped over but two arms caught him before he fell to the ground.

“Whoa, okay. Shit, fuck.” The words were echoed and distant. Frank managed a maniacal giggle before the black surrounded him and he became unconscious.
