Jet-Star and the Kobra Kid/Traffic Report

I take a deep breath and turn to face the oncoming threat; pointing my gun directly at the face of the leading 'C/R/O/W. I know I have to be the face of confidence, calm, cool, and collected; but inside, I'm panicking.

We are so screwed. The whole gang's never faced 7, much less the 2 of us.

The calm side of my brain fires back quickly.

Well, we've never been this close to Battery City before. And besides that, it's my job to know what to do, how to react. So just be calm and face the challenges as they come.

But the challenges. They're coming, and fast. AND THERE ARE SEVEN!

Just shut up already!

By the time my brain got tired, my grip on the gun had gotten really shaky, and there was a S/C/A/R/E/C/R/O/W right in front of me. I barely have time to register the full-blown shock and panic, much less come to terms with my own death, before the zap of Fun Ghoul's laser knocks him dead.

Thank God!

The close call was just what I needed to shake me out of my frightened stupor and jolt me to action. In no time at all, I've taken out 2 attackers and started wrestling with another. I manage to pin him down long enough to take a pretty good shot. He isn't dead, but fatally injured, and I'm not picky. He'll be out in a few minutes anyway. I sigh in contentment and hop up to face the next 'C/R/O/W. Much to my surprise, no one is coming towards me.

Yes! Victory!

I turn to Ghoul to celebrate and I find where the other 3 'C/R/O/Ws went. All my contentment goes right out the metaphorical window. We are screwed. Or more accurately, he is screwed. Two 'C/R/O/Ws have him pinned against the vending machine he so proudly stole from just minutes before, and the third has his shiny silver ray gun poised just below his jaw.
Suddenly, I'm filled with a rage like I've never known, and all the strength that comes with this hell storm of fury. Not thinking, I tackle the armed 'C/R/O/W and he falls to the floor, pulling the trigger as he does so. Instantly, I remember my own gun, and shoot all 3 remaining crows in 5 seconds flat.
Fun Ghoul, now free, rushes to me.
"Poison, you alright?"
"Yeah, I'm fi-" Only now do I feel a searing pain in my right shoulder, "oh shit. They got me." I'm more surprised than anything. Never mind, the wound hurts just a touch more than my pride.
"No shit, man. Radio Dr. D. We need to get out of here!"
I barely have time to fish out the radio before a rush of desert sand simultaneously blinds and chokes me. The roar of a car engine fills my ears as I double over coughing.
"Yo tumbleweeds, where were you?" a booming voice fills my ears.
Finished with my coughing fit, I look up to see the face of Dr. Death Defying. Suddenly, the rage is back.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN WHERE WERE WE? WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU?!"
Before he can get a word in edgewise, I stalk up to the rolled-down car and swing at him with my good hand, making contact with the large man's jaw. Satisfied with the resounding crunch, I open the backseat door and slide in. Jet-Star, not wanting to agitate my already-inflammatory state, scooches up against the far window to make room. Fun Ghoul meekly climbs in after me and closes the door. Still in shock from my outburst, Dr. D starts to drive.
