The Light Behind Your Eyes

Franks P.O.V

I walked away with tears rolling down my cheeks, I can't believe this is the last time I'll be seeing Gerard, it was my fault, I haven't figured out how but I knew it was my fault. I don't care if I look weird staying here, because this is supposed to be entirely professional right now.
As I reached his door I heard a gasp. I turned around quick on my heels seeing Gerard gasping for air with his eyes open.

"Gee?" I ran over to his side pressing the panic alarm by his bed.
"F-frankie" he said a little wobbly before he started to panic and rip the needles out of his arms tying to hug me.
"Shhhhh" I hushed to Gerard trying to calm him as I pulled him info my chest, I wasn't sure how much I was
comprehending and taking in but the next minute I know four nurses ran in with the head doctor calling out random numbers, I saw them telling Gerard to calm now and relax while they tried putting the needles back in him.
I was in a daze, he's alive......he can be with my again!

I felt a hand on my shoulder, it was a nurse and I saw her lips moving but I couldn't hear her anymore until she shook me.
"Sir, sir, are you alright?" I nodded as she led me out the room.




*time lapse* ~ 3 hours later

I was tired and hungry, but I wouldn't go home. Mikey and his mum had stayed with me of course insisting that I go home. Of course I wouldn't though. Ray was also told to go home and when he wouldn't go his parents had to come and pick him up because it's a 'school night'
We all made small talk, I even think that Donna started flirting with me but I kindly shook it off and went to get a coffee.

Gerard was sleeping, we had been told he was stable but needed to rest, I wanted to see him so badly, I wanted to kiss him and hold him, tell him it was okay.

When I returned Mikey and Donna were standing up looking happy.
"Frank, Gerard is awake and we have been told we can go and see him" I smiled then followed them down the corridor to his room.

We entered his room and Gerard looked very pale, more than usual. His hair was messy and he looked very fatigue. He gave us a small smile.

"Gerard!" Donna said as she ran over and hugged him. Mikey went around the other side and I saw him wiping his eyes. I felt slightly awkward at this emotional moment, not sure what to do with myself, I don't usually show my emotions. My stomach was fluttering at the sight of my boyfriend. He made eye contact with me as he hugged his mother.
"I'm...umm....I'm going to go" I said as I awkwardly waved goodbye.
"No! Please s-stay" Said Gerard as his bottom lip quivered.
"Now Gerard, Mr.Iero has already stayed this long, he has things go do" Said Donna as she tried to rationalise with him.
"B-but he can't go I-"
"-it's alright, I'll stay, I just didn't want to intrude on this family moment..." Gerard smiled as his mother wiped away the tears.
"C-can I please talk to Mr.Iero on m-my own please?" Requested Gerard, Mikey nodded getting up with his mother following.

Once they'd left I walked over to Gerard slowly and sat down on a seat next to his bed.
"Hey" I said softly and grabbed his cold hand.
"Hi" he replied blushing,"thank you" he spoke afterwards.
"For what?"
"T-the song you and was beautiful" he started breaking down crying, he heard my song....oh god he actually heard it.
"You really heard all of that?" I smiled
"Yeah, and I-it made me realise I couldn't lose this fight and that I need you" He was crying and so was I, we were both a mess.
"I almost lost you" I whispered out, he looked down to his lap.
"P-please will you kiss me?" He didn't even have to ask that, I pressed my lips to his softly and he kisses back with more force, he patted his lips letting my tongue slide over his. His hands roamed my back and I pulled his hair in the heat of the moment. I pulled back not wanting to injure him.

"I think we should tell my Mum" he breathed out, I looked back in shock.
"If that's what you want, maybe give it some time because I think she was flirting with me earlier" He laughed, his laugh was mesmerising.
"Earlier she said that she thought you were hot, but then she said that she wouldn't mind me bringing you home" I smirked and winked at him.
"Well I am a catch"

Time passed and we ended up spending an hour talking together before Mikey and Donna came back in.
"Gerard we're going home honey, it's really late but I promise we'll be here first thing in the morning" Gerard nodded and I stayed still.
"Frank are you going home?" She asked.
"Ummmm not yet" I had already told Gerard I wouldn't leave him tonight, I felt like we were one whole person now.
"Alright, goodnight then, I'll see you some other time, maybe we could get coffee?" She blushed asking me, I saw Mikey hiding his face behind his hands and Gerard shifted uncomfortably.
"That would be nice, I just wanted to make you aware that my sexual orientation is not around women so if that's what you were looking for...." She went red from embarrassment before laughing.
"Oh that's fine Frank, I knew you were gay, I can sense it, just like my children, it's like a sixth sense" We all laughed it off.

Later when everything was tired I leaned in and kissed Gerard one more time before closing my eyes thinking about what a day I've had.
