June 28th(continued)

"What do I do?" I asked, unsure of how I was supposed to help. I mean, don't cars come with buttons for that?

"Get back here and help me pull it up. It's an old car. Nothing works but the gas and the brakes, uh, sometimes." He said scratching the back of his neck. He seemed nice enough, maybe a little demanding. He was cute, not conventionally cute, but cute to me. I got behind the car with him and started trying to push the top of the car up, to no avail, of course. I sighed and gave him a look.

"Look, man, I hate to say this but we aren't getting anywhere with this." I said after about 10 seconds of physical exertion. 10 seconds too much for my body to handle. I was already kinda winded. Im out of shape, okay.

"Honestly, I can get it up myself." He paused to pull the top up with one hand. "I just wanted an excuse to talk to you." He finished.

"So you got yourself, your fucking car, and me soaked for nothing?" I asked, thoroughly confused. Was my attention worth hypothermia and water damage?

"Well, I couldn't put up the top while driving so, I pulled into the lot to do so and I saw you looking pissed and adorable. So adorable that it made me want to do something to get your attention. I also got the bonus of seeing your nipples through your soaked shirt." He laughed. Son of a bitch. Who the fuck says that kind of stuff?

"Oh my god, my mom warned me about you." I said. "Like, me specifically or...?"I laughed internally.

"No. Creeps that pray on teenagers who look all helpless and vulnerable. Well guess what, buddy, I'm not the one to fuck with." I said, making sure to sound at least slightly intimidating.

"I'm not a pedophile, or wait, how old are you?" He asked.

"I'm ten, leave me alone, creep." I said and started walking away.

"You're lying, what ten yeah old is that fucking tall. Come back please, I didn't intend to be creepy. I'm nice," he paused for a moment, "nice-ish." What the fuck was that supposed to mean? And why did it make me want to get to know him? What a fucking creep.
