the sound of your name could silence my demons

When Gerard began to regain consciousness the first thing he noticed was the leather fabric of whatever he was sitting on. He wasn’t home anyomore, that was nothing like his moth eaten sofa. Than he remembered what happend before: the noise, the voices. His eyes fluttered open. His vision was blurry at first, but after a few moments he recognized the room he was in.
“Ah, I see you woke up.”
Gerard recognized the voice.
“Charlie..”
“Well I see you remember me, so amnesia is not one of the reasons you did not bring my money.”
“Uh…”
“What ‘s that, Gerard?”
“Look, you know my situation isn’t easy…”
“I also know that you owe me 2000 dollars. You told me I would have them a month ago, I think I was too patient with you. Do you have anything for me?”
Gerard remembered the 80 dollars in his pocket.
He hands Charlie the money.
“Are you kidding me? Kid, that’s not even ten percent. I gave you 2000 dollars worth drugs.”
“I know… Look, I have this, uh.. new job and I will pay you I swear… I’ll give you 300 more by the end of the next week.. And the rest in time?..” Gerard started shaking with fear.
“500. Saturday you come here with the money. After that you have a month to give me the rest of my money. I hope you don’t fuck with me, for your own good.”
It was Thursday night and Frank was washing dishes in the kitchen. He wanted to save up money for when he gets out of there, and he couldn’t wait to get out and meet his angel. Maybe he’ll buy something for him with the money he’s getting for doing these chores. He knows it’s silly to think he’ll even talk to him, cos he isn’t gonna look at some poor foster kid, but hey, a boy can dream.
Sometimes, Frank liked to eavesdrop on the conversations of the security guards. He liked to hear that someone’s life was actually shittier than his. Last week Jacob’s wife cheated on him with the postman and Mark’s teenage daughter got pregnant. He felt a bit bad for them, but damn was it funny.
This night, however, they were talking about something else.
“Dude, you know the redhead stripper working at the club next to us?”
“Yeah, of course, who doesn’t?” Frank didn’t like the tone in his voice. It was so pervy and disgusting.
“I banged him so hard before this shift. Oh my god he’s soo good. So tight. You gotta see that ass.”
“I thought he wasn’t in business?”
“He’s new actually, Monday was his first day. He’s also expensive as fuck, but it’s worth it.”
Frank was feelling sick already, so he finished washing the dishes and excused himself to go up to his room. Halfway there he was already crying, his face was red and his cheeks wet.
He thought twice and decided to go to his friend’s room instead of his, cos his roommate would probably beat the shit out of him for crying.
When he got into the room, Pete was laying on his bed, looking at the celling. But as soon as he saw Frankie crying he got up and hugged him. He hugged him and let him cry on his shoulder for however long it would take. Frank was thankful Pete wasn’t trying to find out the reason he’s crying, because he couldn’t talk. He wasn’t in the mood to talk. All he wanted to do was disappear.
He started thinking about his poor angel. Why does he do that? What do those men do to him? Why does it have to be this way?
Pete has never seen Frank cry that hard, he was a bit concerned. He stood there, with his hands around Frank’s shoulders. He knew that eventually, he will have the explanation he wants.
