I'm Really Not That Bad.

Give a Chair, For All the Broken.

Lunch finished with a one-sided conversation, Gerard's eyes never leaving Frank as the fifteen year old talked endlessly.
Soon everyone had left, leaving for their therapy sessions, to hide away in their rooms, or to go do some of the activities the ward offered. Frank almost always attended the activities. They kept him occupied, which was something he appreciated.
Gerard had finished his food a while ago, and Frank didn't cast even a glance at the food. The nurse's had come over a while ago, threatening to make him eat completely supervised, but Gerard shoed them off.
Finally they stood, walking out to the hallway. "So, we've got a few things to do. There's a few good books, but I've already read those. Uh, there's this lady who comes in later to do art with us... she sorta reminds me of a preschool teacher." He said, looking up at Gerard.
Now, Gerard wasn't really all that tall, Frank just happened to be veey, very short.
"Uh, when does the art lady come?" Gerard asked, looking around. "Two o'clock. That's in like, 45 minutes." He said, walking toward the room where activities were held. He pushed open the door, holding it open for Gerard. "This is the room. I usually just wait until she comes. She'll like you a lot probably. She's really cool." He smiled, sitting at the table
"So, let's play a game." Gerard said, sitting next to Frank. "Okay... what game?" Frank turned, biting his nails. "20 questions." He determined, not waiting for a response from Frank before asking his first question.
"What are your parents like?" He asked. Frank took a while before responding. "My mom is nice. My dad not so much. He left when i was little, and during his visits he's always drunk and pissed off about one thing or another." He shrugged, lifting his shirt to show a dark bruise on his side. Gerard nodded.
"Do you have any siblings?" He asked. "One. His name is Mikey. He's awesome. I sorta feel bad for coming here and leaving him for a while, but he said it was best." Gerard looked almost serene as he spoke about his brother.
They went on like this until a woman walked through the door. She was average height, taller than Frank but shorter than Gerard. She was blonde with long straight hair. She was clad in a black shirt with a white blazer, covered in splotches of yellow color. She wore bright yellow jeans and high heeled boots. "Hello, I'm Allie Lemrise. The art director. And you are?" She asked, the question directed at Gerard who smiled and gave his name.
"Nice to meet you. Are you and Frank getting along?" She asked. God, she was just like a preschool teacher. "Mhm. What're we doing today?" Frank asked impatiently, bouncing in his seat. "Frank, you know we have to wait five more minutes until we start. To make sure others aren't coming." She scolded, though she still smiled. Frank groaned, laying his head on Gerard's shoulder, much to the older man's amusement.
