Please Don't Take This Out On Me

The door creaked open I tried my best to peer through the frizzy mess of Ray's hair to see who it was. I was unsuccessful, and groaned quietly. Ray was such a sweetheart, but honestly I didn't want to choke on hair every five minutes. However, he seemed like such a huggy guy, and I knew I could withstand his angel-like personality. I didn't mind hugs.
A chuckle sounded from the front of the room; echoing throughout the halls and I pulled away. "M-mom?"
A eventually started untangled myself from Ray and turned the figure standing at the door with a huge, excited grin all for my mom. I couldn't believe I was finally seeing her again. I barely even noticed Ray was still in the room as my heart started beating faster.
"Hello, Frank." The smile on my face immediately started fading slightly and my heart dropped a bit as I caught sight of the woman who I haven't seen in over 3 months. She didn't look like herself. She didn't look like my mama.
The woman standing at the door was frailer and weaker then I could have ever imagined a person being. Her eyes were sunken and dark, her hair was matted and would probably take hours to tangle, her hands shook when she stepped forward to give me a hug, her posture was drooped forward, and she looked extremely malnourished.
I hugged her as gently as possible; letting my eyes flutter shut as if that would heal her frail body. "Oh mama... What's wrong?"
"I g-gave up the thing that made me the most h-happy," she sniffled, and pulled a kleenex out of her pocket. While she blew her nose I rubbed her back gently. My poor mother. I know she did this because she knew it would be better for me, but I couldn't believe she was in this state.
"I w-wish I could take you b-back." I hushed her softly; kissing her cheek. "I understand... I mean I know why you did it. But promise me one th-thing." My voice shook. "I'll only cooperate here if you take care of yourself. That means eating, moving, and not just lying in bed all day." I gave her a glare for a second then realized I couldn't stay upset. Of course I was disappointed she wasn't the healthiest, but I was too happy to see her.
I pulled her in for another hug when the door swung shut and I looked around; realizing Ray had left a while ago. In his place was a tall boy with fiery red hair.
Oh god. Oh fuck no oh my fuck-
"Mrs Iero, I'm sorry, visiting hours are over." He sounded slightly appologetic and I whimpered; clinging onto my mom's shawl. "P-please can she stay a little l-longer?" Tears started forming in the corners of my eyes and I willed them to not fall. I had to stay strong for me and my mama.
"No, Frank. I'm really sorry. She can come again another time. But not right now." Gerard spoke quickly and fiddled with his hands. He looked sort of awkward to be around us, and I knew he was just uncomfortable with the fact that my mom and I were pale and nearly in tears. Not exactly the best way to talk to someone.
"O-okay-" I hugged my mama goodbye and told her I loved her; clutching onto her hand one last time. "Goodbye, my son. I love you so much don't forget that Frankie no matter what happens." A lump in my throat formed and I couldn't even get any words or tears out until Gerard escorted her back to her car and I collapsed onto the floor; bawling my eyes out.
