Please Don't Take This Out On Me
Chapter 3: Meeting Mikey
I followed Bob to the bottom of the staircase and into a large dining room with many loud teenagers talking and laughing. They looked like they were having a really good time. Bob shouted somethi across the dining room and ran off to where I assumed his 'cool' friends were; leaving me alone and scared. Oh god... I was starting to feel panicky. Sinking to the ground, I clutched my chest with one hand where my racing heart was. I wasn't going to make any friends here. I was going to be alone. No one was ever going to like me and I'd get picked on and my mom would never come back. Oh my god I couldn't stay in here any longer...
I was about to stand up when a hand clasped onto my shoulder and I jumped and looked up into the eyes of a tall skinny boy with brown hair spilling out of his beanie. "Hey, are you alright?" he asked and I bit my lip and stood up shakily. "N-no-" I said; tears forming in my eyes and I quickly wiped them away. "What's wrong?" The boy asked and I shrugged. Great, Frank. Someone sorta nice is talking to you and you're ignoring them. "Do you wanna come eat with me?" he asked gently and I looked into his eyes. "R-really?" "Yeah!" the boy smiled then it quickly faded. "Unless you don't want to... Then I'll just go..." "I'd love to!" I said hurridly. "I'm Frank. I'm new here." "Mikey!" the boy said; extending his arm and shaking my hand eagerly. "Come on, I sit over here."
I followed Mikey over to his table, finally happy I wouldn't be sitting alone. Mikey seated himself at a small, empty table with a lonely pair of sunglasses and I looked around. "You sit - You sit - alone? Mikey shrugged and looked a little bit sad. "Yeah... No one really likes me and I get picked on by -" I gasped as a flying spoon came out of nowhere and knocked Mikey in the head; causing his beanie to slip off. "Oh my god are you okay?" I looked around to see who had done it, and my eyes landed on a couple of guys laughing and high fiving. All except for one. I studied him quickly and my jaw nearly dropped.
This guy was gorgeous. No - gorgeous doesn't begin to cover it. He had the most perfect face I had ever seen in my entire life. He looked incredibly young with a round, boyish face and pixie nose but the way he clenched his jaw and look around angrily I knew he meant business. And I also knew it was him who had thrown the spoon. I watched in awe as he tossed his fiery red hair around and caught my eye with a smirk. I blushed and quickly looked down as my heart fluttered eagerly. Oh no. This guy was bad... But also scarily cute.
