It started with nothing

Chapter 8: School and new friends.

My bedroom ceiling had 5 big cracks, 10 tiny cracks, some yellowish discoloration and annoying little spider in the corner next to my bed. Bastard, he lives under my roof and doesn’t even pay a rent. I should sue him for forced entry.

I sighed and turned on my left side, staring at my bedroom window.

It’s been exactly 9 hours, 35 minutes and… 59 seconds since Gerard left me speechless at work. Not that I was counting it.

Oh, so it’s been 9 hours and 36 minutes just now. Hmm.

I feel awful because of what happened. I feel like a bastard because I cheated on my girlfriend… Again. I feel like a dick for willingly helping Gerard to cheat on his wife. And I feel like an idiot for almost painting the stall white.

Damn it!

I can’t fucking believe I almost came in there. Like it’s been like what, 5 minutes? And I could barely hold myself back after like 3rd minute. I should be able to last longer. Ugh I need to work on that.

And as if this wasn’t enough, I’m back where I started. Guys or girls. Or both? It’s getting pretty annoying. My little episode with Gerard this afternoon made me even more confused about it all. Now when I’m thinking about it, would it feel so wrong if I didn’t have a girlfriend? Or is it a sign that it’s not good for me? You know like a sign I’m straight or something.

But the problem is – in that moment it didn’t feel wrong at all. I wanted him and I knew it. And here’s the big question – is it even a problem? God I need a break from all of this.

I sighed and closed my eyes in hope I’ll quickly fall asleep. And for the first time in a long time, I did.

*

“Watch out idiot!” Someone who I just ran straight into yelled at me. Perfect that’s just perfect. And I also managed to spill my coffee all over myself.

“I’m sorry, man! It won’t happen again.” I replied to a guy, still angry at myself.

“Well if it won’t happen again I guess I can survive it. I’m not the one with coffee flavored shirt after all.” He said pointing at my favorite shirt and a giant coffee stain on it.

“Yeah. Damn it.” I murmured.

“Misfits, huh?”

“Yeah, one of my favorite bands.” I said with a light smile. Then I took a look at him. Oh my.

“One of my favorites too.” He said and smiled at me from the high. No shit guys, that kid was like two feet higher than me. And I was left wondering how I could not see him in the first place.

I smiled again. He smiled again. I smiled back. He let out some kind of cute giggle. Oh I have to admit- wait. Giggle? I raised my eyebrow biting on my lip, not even aware of what I was doing. The corridor we were standing in was completely empty. Everyone was already in their classrooms.

“What’s your name anyway, Smurfie?” SMURFIE?!

“I’m Frank. And what is yours… Gargamel?”

I giggled again. Man that was just odd to see a guy like him giggle. It was cute though.

“Funny.” He said tilting his head to side. “My name is Austin.”

“Oh too bad I just recently met another guy with name that begins with G-“ I cut myself off. No Gerard. NO!

“What?” He asked confused.

“Oh nothing, ignore it.” I waved it off and smiled again.

“Sorry, I don’t think I’ve seen you in here before.”

“Yeah well, I just switched schools, my folks couldn’t stand me to get beaten up all the time.” As soon as he said it it was more than clear he really didn’t mean to say it. I felt bad for him. I was bullied for years myself. But I didn’t quite understand why anybody would bully him. I mean, he’s taller like 90% of people. I would be scared. Actually I might be a bit scared. Don’t laugh! He’s really tall.

And like he could read my mind…

“So uhm, are you so short or did I get taller again?” He asked shyly. I just had to laugh.

“I’m just too short.”

“Oh I was afraid it’s the latter.” He smiled.

“So ah, since you’re new here, do you wanna look around here with me a bit?” Austin’s face lit up and big happy smile appeared again.

“That would be awesome! Thanks.”

As we were walking through seemingly empty school we were talking about our favorite bands and just everything that came up on our minds. I could easily tell that Austin was one of the best people I’ve ever met. And not only because of music taste, as we were working our way through various topics I’ve learned he had the biggest heart. I could smell a big friendship in the air.

*

“Guys, this is Austin, he switched schools and here we have him!” I introduced Austin to my friends, Dean and Sam, as we made our way to lunch room.

“Hey, welcome! I’m Dean. Oh dude, you’re - like - really tall!” Dean said after he unsuccessfully tried to man-hug him. It looked quite funny actually.

“Yeah I know.” Austin blushed a little.

“Hi, I’m Sam.” The boy smiled and waved in Austin’s direction.

“Oh, Sammy, Austin here doesn’t bite. Does he, Frank?” Excuse me?

“Don’t know what you’re talking about.” Dean sat down next to furiously smirking Sam. I can’t believe he told him. He’s so going to die for his sins.

“Come on, sit down, Austin!” I said cheerily. He looked a bit overwhelmed.

“Frank, where’s Amelia?” Dean asked suddenly. Oh.

“Actually I don’t know, I haven’t seen her today.” Hmm, that’s a bit strange.

“Amelia? Who’s Amelia?” Austin asked.

“Frankie’s girl. And Dean, please, you know how I hate to see her all over Frank, it’s like she’s so desperate to get him into bed she has no self-respect. And it’s kind of disgusting to be honest.” Sam replied to Austin’s question before me.

“What do you mean ‘disgusting’? What’s disgusting about that?” Dean turned around to see his younger brother’s face better.

“Uhm, maybe the fact that she’s trying to stick her tongue in his mouth the moment she spots him in hallway?” Sam replied to Dean with a sting of irony and laugh in his voice. I blushed.

“Good observation, Sammy.” Dean said and turned his attention to his meal.

“I know.” I looked over to Austin who barely managed to hold in a laughter, his shoulders shaking slightly. Then I looked over Dean and Sam who were trying not to laugh as well. Soon we were all laughing like maniacs.

“We better get going, Sammy, we’ll be late for history.” I said and started to gather my things.

Dean and Austin found out that they both had biology now, so they walked away together. I found myself quite occupied in today’s history class. It was really interesting lesson. World War II. had always been one of my favorites topics.

As I was listening to our history teacher, Mrs. Joethil, my eyes wandered at clock hanging above the door. And I would swear I saw Mr. Way’s head peek through the class door window. What the hell.

Notes

So here it is guys. And yes, I just had to stick Austin in there. Also beware, I most likely will continue with all of my fav band members. Also idk if Austin likes Misfits I just kinda wrote it.

Oh and who has some idea why frank saw Gerard in his school? Or do you think it was only a mirage? Hehehe.

Hello, just to let you know I had major writers block which wouldn't be so bad if I accidentaly didn't delete the file with my notes for this story -_- so I was dreading to re-write it again, and yeah took me quite a while, but once I'm done translating it (eh I write in my native language) then it'll be here in no time. Also, I'm planning to upload this story to ao3, so I'm currently working on older chapters (especially the first ones, Geez, these are really bad) and I'll be updating them here too, so there are not two versions.
