Love and Guns

Iero and Son #3

It had been two days since Gerard asked Frank out and they had been texting constantly. Frank was slowly finding out more and more about him and he loved it.
He learned that Gerard draws comics and he lives in the upper side of town.
Frank didn't want to tell Gerard that he works for a mob, so he just said that he works for the family business, and Gerard didn't ask him any more questions about it, which he was thankful for.
The boys had really hit it off. They were both very excited for the date, but never talked about it. Frank had asked once what they were going to do, but Gerard wouldn't tell him. He had only said to dress nice.

Frank had slowly been learning the family trade while at work. He learned small things, like how to make a business deal, and how to categories the weapons. He hated having to do things like this, but it made his father proud, so he kept up with it.
"Frankie boy!" His father exclaimed as he walked into the warehouse.
"Good morning. Sir."
"Frankie you're gonna do some work with Louie today, got it?"
"Sure do."
Frank went to the small office on the other side of the warehouse to find Louie sitting behind his desk sharpening a knife.
"Uh, Louie, my dad said to find work with you."
Louie put the knife down and smiled at him.
"Frank, I'm gonna go ahead and take you on a run with me today. The boss made a deal with a few guys who want coke, so you and I are gonna make sure they get it."
"Oh.. Okay."
"Go to the second floor and have someone suit you up."
Frank nodded to him and left the office. He whistled to himself as he went to the second floor. He found the nearest guy and asked him to help suit up.
The guy put Frank in a bulletproof vest and an Iero and Son jacket, then put a small gun in his back waistband.
"You're good to go, son." He said to him and Frank thanked him, then went to meet Louie outside with the loading truck.
He found the truck parked in the back, and he hopped into the passenger side.
"So here's what you gotta do, Frankie. Stay close to me at all times, don't take your eyes off of the customer, and always have your weapon prepped. Got it?"
Frank noted it all in his head.
"Yeah, I think so."

Frank and Louie parked outside of a small building and hopped out of the truck.
Louie pulled the back of the truck open and grabbed a large box, and Frank followed him into the building.
They were in a very small room with only a table in the center of it. Louie set the box down and two men walked in.
One man was tall and slender, with a sharp jawline, and he looked pretty young.
The other man was older, and he resembled something of a rat.
The younger man's stare burned into Frank's skin.
"Is it all here?" The older rat man's voice broke the silence.
"All of it." Louie replied in a stony voice that Frank had never heard him use before.
"Good."
Frank heard a small click and looked to see a man standing behind Louie with a gun to his head. He felt his heart pick up.
The rat man went to pick up the box and Louie elbowed the man behind him. He fell to the floor with a thud and Louie pulled a knife out of his pocket, then threw it at the rat man's arm.
The younger boy pulled out a gun and aimed it at Louie.
Louie moved out of the way, but the younger man was quicker than that. He pulled the trigger and got Louie in the shoulder, then quickly ran out of the room, and the rat man pulled the knife out of his arm and picked the box back up. He turned to run, and Frank pulled his gun out and shot him in the back. The man went down and dropped the box. Frank looked around to see that there was no one else in the room, so he leaned down to make sure Louie was still alive.
"Are you okay?" He asked him.
"I'm fine, get the box!"
Frank quickly ran to the other side of the table and picked up the large box. He saw that Louie was back up and running toward the door, so Frank followed him. They made it back to the truck, and they drove away from the building as fast as they could.
"God that was crazy. Please tell me that's not how all of the deals go."
"Not at all, actually. We have only had about three go like this. But you handled it well. Good job, Frank."

Louie and Frank made it back to the warehouse safely, and Louie drove himself to the doctor.

Frank was getting even more unsure of his job by the day.
