Famous Last Words
Chapter Three
*Cosmos POV*
"You got in a fight AND got suspended?!" Patrick growled. I nodded.
"That's my girl!" Andy laughed.
"THIS IS NOT FUNNY!" Patrick cried out. Just then, the doorbell rang.
"Joe, can you get that? It's probably just a FedEx package." Patrick sighed. "Cosmos, how did this happen?"
"I walked into school..." I trailed off, not wanting them to know my school issues.
"Go on." Patrick urged.
"Well-"
"Patrick!" Joe called, interrupting me. We ran to the doorway where my aunt stood with my half sisters; Jamie and Alex, who are seven year old twins, and three year old Caroline.
"Cosmos! Why don't you take Caroline to your room?" Aunt Jen asked. I grabbed Carols hand, slightly confused, and took her to my room. Jamie and Alex stayed behind.
"Cos?" Carol whispered.
"Whats up, Carol?"
"I think mommy's gone up there." She pointed up.
"Why would you think that, sweetheart?" I was concerned at this point.
"She was sick." For a three year old, Carol is very smart. She doesn't talk to anyone outside of the family except for the guys, yet she learned to walk and talk at a very young age.
By now, tears were running down her face. She made no move to wipe them away, though, just stared up at me.

"Cosmos, someones at the door." Jamie poked her head into my room. I got up from brushing Carol's hair and went to see who it is. Gerard stood there, tears streaming down his face.
"What happened?" I gasped, pulling him into the house.
"C-can we go somewhere's p-private?" He asked, glancing at Alex, who was sitting on the couch watching us.
"Of course. I can send Carol out of my room." I led him there, gently asking Carol to go to the living room.
"M-my grandma d-died." He sobbed.
"Oh my god, Gerard, I'm so sorry!" I pulled him into my arms, leading him to sit on the bed. I rocked him back and forth, trying to get him to calm down. "How's Mikey taking it?" I asked him quietly.
"H-he never m-met her." He said quietly. "He was a little sad, but then h-he went back to reading a c-comic book."
I pulled him closer, trying to hold him together. He looked up and connected our lips. The kiss was cut short by soft footsteps outside the door. We pulled apart just as Carol walked in. She looked at Gerard.
"Are you alright?" She asked him. I was shocked that she actually talked to him. Even more surprising was that she walked over and climbed into his lap, hugging him.
"I'll be ok." He answered, smiling down at her softly.
"What happened?"
"You w-wouldn't understand."
"She does. Her mom died yesterday." I cut in.
"Did your mommy die?" She asked.
"No... my g-grandma- Elena- d-did."
"Cos, can we take him for ice cream and go to the park?" She turned to me.
"Sure. I'll call Mikey, too." I got up and dialed his number.
"Hello?"
"Hey, Mikey, I'm taking my sister and Gerard for ice cream, wanna come?"
"Sure."
