The Sick and Disgusting
I Think The Sky Is Blue But Then I Could Be Wrong
I sit there on the floor where he left me. I want to go somewhere, clean myself up, make sure Mikey's gonna be okay... but I don't. I sit there and only partially feel sorry for myself. The rest of my attention is turned to feeling good about the past, then sorry for my dad. That last one only lasts for a second before I feel a sharp pain shoot up my leg. Looking back, that sorry son of a bitch can...
I slink to my bedroom not bothering to avoid the broken objects scattered in my path. I text Mikey that I'll pick him and Ray up for school in the morning and pass out again.

I wake up a little later than usual, but decide that's a good enough reason to skip a shower before making 3 coffees and pulling my shoes on. I change my shirt and dust off my jeans. I grab my phone and an altoid seeing Mikey had texted me back last night requesting I bring his school stuff. I gather my things then head upstairs to get his which are all packed away in his back pack and piled sloppily on his desk. I pile the backpacks into my trunk and carefully place all of the coffees into various cup holders before putting some badass shades on and starting the car and setting of to Ray's house.
I get there and there's about 8 kids sitting on the curb outside with their respective backpacks. Mikey hops up and the rest follow. I quickly lock the doors before any of the little nasties can get in my car and roll down my window.
"Okay so Gee before you say anything just here me out" He rushes to say. I realize he's waiting for a response so I quirk my eyebrow, still unsure how I want to react to this horrendous surprise. "So um I got here and Ray had friends over and then we were talking and I was like my brother's friggin awesome but see they didn't believe me 'cause they were all 'well prove it Way' " I fought hard to keep a straight face as he did the one man play thing he was prone to put on from time to time. "and so when you said you'd give us a ride I thought this would be a good time."
"Question." I held a finger up. " Why was Ray partying on a Thursday night. Not a problem, just a gaping hole in your cellophane allibi." I topped that line off with a sassy hair flip.
"Lay off the NCIS and poetry slams would you and his parents were out of town...err are out of town." He shrugged.
I lean to look past Mikey at Ray who is literally right behind him and raise my eyebrows. He takes a step back so he's about an inch away from my kid brother and says " Well not some crazy house party, just some good ol' D&D"
"Good ol' D&D" I mutter to myself. They chatted me up over some "good ol' d&d". Damn. This is what I've amounted to... but if they like d&d, they can't be too bad. I unlock the doors and pop the truck. "Back packs in the trunk and no gum" I say somewhat resigned before they all pile in. I get them all to school and internally praise myself for my apparent potential to be a soccer mom.
