Chapter Thirteen: Savior
*Time Lapse
I watch as the parade clashes with the demons. A full on battle ensuing, blood, guts, and gore paint the canvas, bringing color to this white void. Creating a beautiful yet brutal masterpiece. Silence is replaced by war cries, screams of agony, gunshots, and terrifying roars. I see a woman with pale blonde hair wearing a black parade uniform, fire a shot at what I presume to be the leader of the demons, the bullet connecting, as she leaps into the air and plunges her sharp dagger into his heart. He lets out a cry but quickly regains his composure as he grabs her neck, lifting her into the air, she struggles to break free, but quickly fades into another world, as she closes her eyes.
The leader throws her on the ground like she’s nothing and lets a booming, maniacal laugh escape his lips. In this moment I feel something, I feel a spark. A fire being lit inside of me. Anger begging to be let out of its cage, to be expressed. As I look at the woman’s limp body, a million emotions swirl inside my hurt mind, making me feel emotions I haven’t felt since I was alive. Suddenly, I feel a sharp pain envelop my decaying heart. I embrace the pain, I welcome it with open arms. Extending my gratitude, thankful to be feeling again. I look at my arms and see that they are no longer transparent, slowly my body becomes whole once again. I drop from the air, landing on my feet. Embracing this moment. I feel something cold, and metal in my hand, astonished as I look over and see a sharp, glowing longsword. Its power radiating throughout my body. Fury and rage takes control of my actions. A cry of pure wrath escaped my dry lips. Demons turned to look at me, confused but charging at me full force nonetheless. They swing their wretched claws at me, I dodge, and leap out of the way with graceful reflexes I never knew I possessed. I leap from monster to monster striking my enchanted sword through their vile hearts. Flames engulf them. A continuous amount of energy and strength pour out me. As I slay everything in my path. Out of nowhere, a black portal appears once more, sucking all of the remaining demons, including their leader into it.
A flash of light, then a loud thunderous sound envelops the fowl smelling air. The monsters have completely vanished. The dead bodies litter the void, the moans of agony arise from the injured. The members of the parade move to collect the injured, as I feel someone grab my arm. I turn around to face them. The woman stands before me, blood, sweat, and faded paint consumes her pallid face. “Welcome to the Black Parade, Corin Gray,” she says while motioning to the parade, “I’m Birdie Lux and I’ll explain everything once we get back to base, but right now we need to leave.” Birdie grabs my hand and pulls me unto the float. A man with dark brown hair, and smudged eyeliner stands next to me.
“You kicked some major ass Corin, the name’s Pete Wentz, and it’s a pleasure to meet you.” Pete said as he bent down slightly, picking up my hand and laying a gentle kiss upon it. He smiled at me once again as I blushed and let a slight smile grace my face. Someone handed Birdie a trumpet as she began to play a sorrowful yet uplifting melody. Suddenly, a bright blue light engulfs us, I have no fucking idea what’s going on, as we are transported into the unknown.
