just another killjoy story

I woke up but kept my eyes closed for a second, I hoped it was all one big nightmare. I heard someone next to me, I knew it was Emma I could hear it from here soft singing she always does that it makes her calm and happy. I opened my eyes and saw the sand and the rocks, it wasn’t a dream. We were still in this enormous desert that we call our home now. I stretched myself out a little bit and sat up. Emma smiled at me and I smiled back. I looked at her face still the same as it has always been, only now with some blood on her cheek. Then I remembered where the blood was from and looked at her leg, it still looked horrible. Her whole left leg was covered in blood and on her upper leg was a big hole in her jeans with a big and nasty wound under it.
‘’We need to get walking again Lizz’’ she said.
‘’You can’t walk like this look at your leg, and we haven’t eaten in two days’’.
‘’We need to get further before it gets too hot, we already are a little late because the sun is up’’.
I looked her in her eyes and then looked at her leg.
‘’Trust me I’m okay, it doesn’t even hurt that much anymore, and look I can move it without pain’’ she tried to stand up and tried as hard as she could to keep smiling but I could see the pain in her face. I stood up and wanted to help her stand up but she shook it off.
‘’You don’t have to help me I’m absolutely fine’’ then she looked at my arm and asked how I was doing. How could she even think about my arm, it just had a few scratches on it but she could have died from that shot in her leg. I said to her my arm was doing great and picked up my bag in the hope it still had some water in it. I opened up my bag and saw only an empty bottle of water. I looked up to her and whispered.
‘’We don’t have any water left’’
‘’It’s okay we will find something else to drink’’
‘’WE’RE IN A DESERT, WE CAN’T FIND ANYTHING TO DRINK! WE ARE ALONE IN A DESERT, HOW DO YOU WANNA FIND SOMETHING TO DRINK OR TO EAT! WE ARE ALONE IN A DESERT HOW ARE WE GOING TO SURVIVE!’’ I fell on the ground and started crying. I started breathing very heavy and quick and I couldn’t think clear. I had a panic attack, of course I had a panic attack if this wasn’t horrible enough on its own. Emma sat next to me and hugged me.
‘’It maybe doesn't look very good right now but we’re going to get out of this, we went through a lot and survived it all so we can do this as well, think about mom and dad and what they have done for us we need to go on, for them.’’
Mom and dad they had given their lives for us. They died so we could live on. They died for us and now I’m sitting here crying in the dessert because we don’t have any water. I'm so weak. Emma almost can't walk and she is doing all right. I wiped my tears of my face and stood up without saying anything. I helped Emma up as well and smiled at her.
‘’That’s the Lizz I know’’ she said and smiled back at me. I didn’t say anything and we started walking.
After a few hours of walking, Emma suddenly fell on the ground.
‘’Don’t worry I’m okay’’ she tried to get up again but she screamed because of the pain she had. I sat next to her and kept her down.
‘’You’re not going anywhere.’’
My big sister just fell on the ground and screamed of the pain. I have never seen her like this. It must hurt like hell because she never screams. I searched for some rocks or trees or anything that we could hide behind. I didn’t see anything except for a small bush on the other side of the road. I dragged her to the other side of the road and put her behind the bush. She was biting her tongue very hard trying not to scream, but I saw she was in a lot of pain because I saw tears running down her face. I ripped her jeans so I could look at the wound. It was even worse than I expected and it was starting to get infected.
‘’we can’t go any further today you have to rest.’’
‘’no I just need to lay down for a..’’
‘’no we are not moving anymore today, you need to rest’’ I said to her. She tried to stand up but again it didn’t work so she just sat next to me and hugged me. After a few minutes she fell asleep. I tried to stay awake but got really sleepy after a few minutes and I also fell asleep. I woke up to the sound of a car door closing. I got up very carefully and saw that our stuff was still on the other side of the road. I knew I forgot something. Why can I never do something right. But now was not the time to be mad at myself because I saw two men by our stuff. I didn’t know them, I didn’t know who they were or what they did, if they were good or bad so I stayed hidden behind the bush.
‘’The bags are empty’’ I heard one of them say.
‘’They can’t be far away there is still fresh blood on this one’’ the other said while picking up Emma's bag.
Then Emma woke up and before I could shut her mouth she let out a small moan of pain. The two men turned around and pointed their guns at our bush.
‘’Show yourself!!’’ said the one with my bag.

hi, I don't think anyone is gonna read my story but anyway if you do please comment and tell me what you think of it, be nice it is my first story ^.^ I will upload chapter two as soon as possible.
