Wipe Away Those Tears of Blood

Gerard's POV

We drove and drove until we were well out of the city. I had no idea where we were heading and it was getting dark.

"Uh, Frankie? Where are we and...are we nearly there yet?" I asked the question that I've asked so many times as a kid.

"Gee, we're gonna be there in about ten minutes. Now quit your moanin' and look out the window. I chose this route for the scenery, now enjoy it," Frank huffed. He looked nervous. I looked out the window and saw a beautiful country road. I could see the ruins of a castle in the distance. I'll keep that in mind. Maybe we could go there and hunt for ghosts and evil spirits?.. Naw. Just walking around the castle would be an amazing experience.

"Frankie, put on some music, will ya?" I batted my eyelashes at him.

"Okay then. The Offspring or Iron Maiden?" Frank asked.

"We always put on Iron Maiden. How about The Offspring for a change?" I suggested. Frankie nodded and told me to put the Cd in, as he was concentrating on the road. I put in Americana and skipped a few songs as I wanted to listen to The Kids Arn't Alright.

"When we were young, the future was so bright..." I started singing.

"The old neighbourhood was so alive!" Frankie joined in.

"And every kid on the whole damn street, was gonna make it big and not be beat!" We harmonized beautifully.

"Now the neighbourhood's craked and torn. The kids have grown up but their lives are worn! How can one little street swallow so many lives?! Chances thrown. Nothings free. Longing for, used to be! Still it's hard, hard to see! Fragile lives, shattered dreams!" Frankie stopped singing and announced:

"We're here!" I stepped out of the car and saw a beautiful view...
