I stared into mama's dazzling blue eyes as she grabbed me and my sister, Eliza, by the arm and dragged us down into the basement.
"What's going on!" I yelp as Eliza began to cry. We got into the basement and mama slammed the door and locked it.
"Mama?" I said softly.
"Yes my sweet child." She said, shoving heavy boxes in front of the door.
"They've come for us, haven't they?" I asked. Mama stared at me silently.
"They know we haven't been taking the drugs so they've come to take us away." I continue.
Mama took me to one side so Eliza couldn't hear what we were saying.
"Baby, listen to me." She said. "I need you to take your sister and run."
"But what about you?" I asked nervously.
"Don't worry about me." She said smiling.
Realising that I had to be a good older sister, I made my way over to Eliza. She was lying on the floor with her eyes closed. " Eliza." I called softly. No response. I moved over to her and checked her pulse. Nothing. She was... Was... Dead! If anything, I had leant not to show emotion to this. It wouldn't make things better.
Suddenly, I heard loud noises coming from upstairs.
Panic growing her face, mama opened the basement window and lifted me through it. For a 19 year, I'm pretty light weight. Once through the window, I turned to help mama, but she just shook her head.
"Its okay baby, I don't matter." She showed me a bravesmile.
"No!" I stuttered. " your coming with me!"Tears, for the first time since all this happened, sliding down my cheeks.
"No sweetheart." She said, tears rolling down her cheeks too.
The door then burst open and loud voices could be heard. I looked back mama, who was now crying uncontrollably.
"Keep running baby!" She shouted through her sobs. A shot that norrowly missed my head shot me into action. Even as I heard my poor mama's painful screams I ran. I didn't look back, I just did what I was told. I kept running.
I didn't stop until a came to a cave. It would do for shade and a place to sleep.
"Don't worry mama." I said as I lay down." I will avenge you."
I then closed my eyes and fell into a deep slumber.
