The Sane Abandoned Me

I texted my Mum in reply to her asking when I would be back; I was sat in Starbucks waiting for Mr Way, he's 15 minutes late but I'm sure he had a good excuse I mean it must take him a while to get hair as perfect as his.

I sigh and play with a blonde streak in my hair then decide to take out my phone and watch a 'Zoella' video.

I've started to feel a tightening in my chest and my stomach had sunk low with disappointment. Where is he? I asked myself running through scenarios that could make him late in my head.
We said we'd meet at 1:30 and it was now 2:45, I decide to text him:

Where are you? We are meeting at Starbucks remember?

I wait 10 minutes then check my phone and no reply. The little tick by the message tells me that he has read it. My chest tightens even more and suddenly I'm fighting for air. Why would he ignore me? And suddenly the booth I'm sitting in is too tight, no the whole Coffeeshop is too crowded, I need to leave.

I stand with my back against the wall attempting to settle my breathing when I decide to leave. Just talk to him on Monday you'll see him at School and he'll have a perfectly good reason for not being here. I assured myself. I began walking back home swallowing the tears that just kept coming.

I stood waiting nervously for Emma but mostly for Gerard. I wait for the icy fingers on my waist but they don't come and instead a chipper Emma and I walk to John's. Alone.

I sit through all my lessons but I feel like I'm not actually there. Why isn't Gerard in? I feel betrayed but I want to believe he hasn't just stood me up and that he does care for me but my ability to do so has crashed.

At lunch I think everyone notices my quietness but they probably pass it off as missing Gerard. I haven't told anyone what happened. Not even John, I guess telling people will make it more real.

I say goodbye to Emma as she enters her house I then cast my eyes to Gerard's house and I'm angry. Angry and hurt and seeking closure. With out really thinking I run up to his house and bang roughly on the door.
