Hold Me Tight

The three boys sat in Ray's car. Mikey was playing with the bracelet on his hand nervously. Gerard noticed and nudged him.

"We're almost there and its going be fine alright? So hold on tight and don't look back."

Mikey managed a small smile then continued playing with his bracelet. Truth was Gerard was also feeling nervous he didn't want to fall for this girl; He couldn't handle anymore heartbreak.

They arrived at the park where they were meeting. Ray spotted the girls and waved enthusiastically, again the pair came bounding over to them Dorrit a little behind Dinah. Expecting Dinah to leap into Ray's arms like she had prior Gerard stood back a little to give them space. And Dinah did leap. Straight into Gerard's arms.

He staggered a bit surprised but then he smiled and set her down and she laughed and ruffled his hair.

"You all came!" She exclaimed.

"Yeah." Ray answered. "Some took a little more convincing than others." He finished casting his eyes at Mikey.

Dorrit smiled and said. "Mikey, would you like to get some ice cream with me?" Mikey nodded vigorously making Dorrit giggle.

"You can speak you know Mikey." Gerard said bringing up his hand with sass.

"You are a fuckboy Gerard. Happy?" Mikey said then he walked off with Dorrit.

"Oh." Gerard sighed.

"What's wrong?" Ray asked.

"I so wanted to be a fuckdaddy."

Ray, Dinah and Gerard took refuge under a tree and began talking. They talked a lot about the darkest hour which made Dinah happy and she'd get this little quivver in her lip. And Gerard found out Dinah was a great person.

Stop. Gerard stop she has a boyfriend.

But he's short! Gerard argued with himself.

Thats beside the point Dinah loves him!

"So Gerard can you play any instruments?" Dinah asked. Shaking him out of his thoughts.

"No...but I love music. Me and Mikey both do. When we were young we used to say you only hear the music when your heart begins to break. And I guess mine and Mikey's hearts got broken a long time ago." Gerard replied.

"Yikes. That's deep, but I like it." Dinah said studying his face.

"I used to sing but I stopped because people said what I sang about was strange." Gerard stated looking up at the leaves.

"You should be strange embrace it because then it gives people something to talk about. And besides I like strange."

They sat there in silence looking into each others eyes then Ray killed the mood.
"Dinah's teaching me how to play guitar!" He boomed proudly.

"Yeah he's pretty good." Dinah admitted. "You know I could teach you if you wanted?" She asked a stray bit of hair covering one of her eyes.

"Okay." Gerard said slowly. What is he saying Mikey tried to teach him bass before and he couldn't play for shit.

"My house tomorrow?" She asked wiggling her eyebrows.

"Yyeah." He stuttered.

"Gee!" Mikey called rugby tackling him.

"What!?" Gerard said swatting him away.

"We need to go Mum texted." Gerard just looked up at him pouting.

"Like need to go." He moaned kicking Gerard's leg aggressively.

"Jeez okay." Gerard said holding up his hands in surrender and getting up.

"Me and Dorrit will walk to the car with you." Dinah said. Gerard hovered over her and held out his hand. He clutched her wrist and pulled her up. She winced and fell back down. She tried to play it off by laughing but Gerard had heard.

"Are you hurt?" He asked softly, crouching beside her.

"I sprained my wrist." She mumbled. "By playing the guitar too hard which is so rock 'n' roll."

"GEE WE NEED TO GO!" Mikey screeched.

"Gee." Dinah mumbled happily to herself.
