Hold Me Tight

Gerard was sat beside Dinah in the hospital just staring into space and clutching her hand. Suddenly he felt her hand thrashing about and looked over at her to see she was having some sort of fit.

"Dinah?!" A machine hooked to her was also sounding a panicked alarm. Gerard made for the door to get the nurse when Dinah stifled out.

"No Gerard, wait!" Gerard turned and ran back to her, sitting next to Dinah on the bed and holding her tight in his arms. He attempted to stifle the convulsing of her body but it was no use. She steadied her breathing and took Gerard's face in her hands.

"Gerard please be strong and hold Bandits hand, the time has come for me, she'll understand." As she uttered the words tears were streaming down her cheeks and Gerard willed her to let go of him.

"I need to get a nurse Dinah!"

"No, please." She pleaded. Gerard stopped struggling and tears clouded his vision as he held his wife. "When I'm here no longer you must be stronger. But know this Gee, if I could be with you forever, I would sing you to sleep. Never let them take the light behind your eyes. I've lost this fight. But just remember you will always burn as bright."

"Dinah, I love you." He cried dragging his hand across his face roughly.

"I love you Gee." She breathed, pressing a kiss gently on his trembling lips. Then her grip on him loosened and she began convulsing more violently. Gerard stared at her in shock for a second then screamed.

"SOMEONE HELP PLEASE!" He held Dinah's head in his lap. Various doctors and nurses rushed in and one tried to pry Gerard off while the others checked the machines.

"Mr Way we're going to ask you to stand back." Gerard obeyed numbly watching them all desperately trying to save her. Dinah let out some mangled cries and he had to leave the room. She was dying and she was hurting. She was hurting and it was Gerard's fault. Its all his fault.
