Hold Me Tight

"Gerard where are we going?" The disorientated girl in Gerard's arms asked.

"On a little drive."

"A little drive?! Gerard I can't just run away from the hospital."

"You can run away with me anytime you want." He replied, strapping her into his car.
He started up the engine and began driving; Dinah didn't protest but she had a frown on her face.

When they got on the highway Gerard turned on the radio trying to put a smile on Dinah's face. Heroes by David Bowie began playing and Gerard grinned; He fucking loved David Bowie.

Dinah couldn't keep the small smile of her face as David sang. "Do you still hate me?" Gerard asked pouting.

"I never hated you." Dinah replied singing along to the song. "Could you open the window?"

Gerard did as she asked and she stuck her head out of the car howling the words of the song as the wind whipped her hair.

When the climax of the song began Dinah pulled her head back into the car and pressed her lips to Gerard then hugged his frame.

"Thank you for this Gee." She mumbled into his shoulder.

"It's okay D." He replied, kissing her head.

10 minutes later Gerard stopped at a dusty lay-by and the pair got out and leant against the hood of the car.

"How's our baby?" Dinah asked looking out at their dessert view.

"She's amazing...a handful, but amazing! She already has a whole little personality." Gerard spoke while grinning from ear to ear. "She peed on Mikey the other day."

"Aha." Dinah chuckled. "I see shes like her Mother then." After a few minutes silence Dinah added. "I wish I had more time with her, I wish I could see her grow up, see what she turns out to be."

"You know you could." At Dinah's sigh Gerard continued. "You don't have to leave us! 'Cause if you stay I would even wait all night for you to get better!"

"Gerard I can't."

"Yes you can you're just choosing the easy way out an-"

"No Gerard I can't. I didn't tell you but the doctors say I'm terminal; Theres no hope for me. So even if I wanted to stay I can't."
