Hold Me Tight

"Shes what." Gerard mumbled disbelieving. "But how what." His mind went back to the night of their date and he pursed his lips understanding.

"You're going to be a Dad Mr Way!" The nurse exclaimed.

"I'll never have a chance to be its Mother." Dinah muttered rubbing her eyes.

"Don't think like that Dinah, be positive! You will get through this." Dinah gave the nurse a dirty look then buried her head under the covers.

"I'll leave you two for a bit...to talk." The Nurse stammered leaving the room and leaving the ultra-sound on the chair. Gerard picked it up delicately and admired this little bean. How had he made this?

"What are we going to do?" Gerard whispered his emotions gone wild, he didn't know whether to feel excited horrified or overwhelmed. Dinah brought her head from under the covers then took Gerard's hands in hers.

"Will you marry me Gerard? I would get on one knee but thats kind of difficult right now." Dinah said attempting a laugh.

"Marry you?"

"Yes, when I have this baby if we aren't married I will be its only guardian and lets get real, I probably won't pull through, this is a battle that I think I've already lost. And when...if I die I want the baby to go to you of course, I mean you're the Dad but they might take it away and I really can't risk that. Do you understand?" Gerard sat there his mouth gaping. "Plus I love you so it kinda fits."

"Dinah, it would be my absolute honour to marry you." He insisted holding onto her hand tightly.

"But if you marry me would you bury me would you carry me to the end? Because I don't think I can do it with out you."

"I will." He assured her locking his lips onto hers.
