My Brutal Romance.
We Wouldn't Work
Gerard's P.O.V
I lay back down on the pillows, and pull her down with me, her brown hair fanning out on the pillow next to me. I watch her while she watches the horror film "I can turn it off." I say after she winces for the millionth time.
She nods and closes her eyes, "Something a little more pg next time." I laugh sitting up to take out the dvd.
"Disney," she says, "I like disney."
Together we finish eating the skittles, as I'm such a gentleman I let her have all her beloved purple skittles. Together we lay back on the pillows, "Read to me?" I ask, just wanting to hear her voice, her beautiful voice.
"Okay." She picked up her book she was reading before she fell asleep. "This is one of my favorites," Her eyes lit up as she opened the book to a random page.
"There was music from my neighbor's house through the summer nights. In his blue gardens men and girls came and went like moths among the whisperings and the champagne and the stars. At high tide in the afternoon I watched his guests diving from the tower of his raft, or taking the sun on the hot sand of his beach while his two motor-boats slit the waters of the Sound, drawing aquaplanes over cataracts of foam. On week-ends his Rolls-Royce became an omnibus, bearing parties to and from the city between nine in the morning and long past midnight, while his station wagon scampered like a brisk yellow bug to meet all trains. And on Mondays eight servants, including an extra gardener, toiled all day with mops and scrubbing-brushes and hammers and garden-shears, repairing the ravages of the night before."
I smiled at her, never before have I ever been interested in all these classical books, but listening to her, the passion, the happiness in her voice, I know that I could listen to a million of them. "Kiss Me, " I look into her eyes a smile, "as long as your mine, I will love you, forever."
She throws her book into the corner of the room and kneels in front of me, I get up onto my knees and take her hands in mine. Looking in each others eyes, I place her hand over my chest where my heart is, and I place mine on hers. "Your heart is racing," I grin and she looks down, a pint tint on her perfect cheeks, "look at me." I pull her skin up with my other hand, and I notice tears in her eyes.
"I'm just happy." She throws herself into my arms and rests her head on my chest, "you make me happy"
"I always will," I kiss her on the top of her head.
"Gee, let's run away? We can leave, me and you."
"We can't go, you have Frank, I have Mikey. I can't leave my brother, he means the world to me, he's the only family I have." I feel her body tense up.
"You have me, I love you." She squeezes my forearm, " you have me."
"I can't leave," I hold her tight as she starts to cry.
"I think you should go, this was a mistake" she pulls away from me and starts to clean the room up, "we wouldn't work."
