counting your face among the living

I wake up to the sound of pounding on my bedroom door and shouting. "Get up you piece of shit! You're going to be late!" I roll out of bed and found a shirt that I believe to be clean, it just so happens to be a Misfits band tee. I pull on a random pair of black skinny jeans. I finish the outfit with a pair of converse and a grey hoodie that I cut thumb holes into. I grab my bag and exit my bedroom and quickly leave the house before my asshat of a father sees me.

I have arrived at the school, and the insults are already being thrown at me. Fag, Emo, Cock Sucker, and my personal favorite, Satan. I keep my head down, and suddenly someone pushes me to the ground, I look up to see the one and only Craig Mabbit. "Hello, Fag ready for your beating today?" He begins to kick me; I let out cries of pain. He slams his foot into me really hard in the ribs, and I hear a 'cracking' noise, that is followed by severe pain. I know for a fact that at least one of my ribs is broken.

All of a sudden the beating stops and I look up to find Frank Iero throwing Craig a fair distance before he comes to my assistance. This is the third time this month he has had to do this. "Gerard, are you okay, is anything broken?"

"Frank, it hurts. I think I have a broken rib." I try to get up, but the pain is intolerable. "Definitely, a broken bone," With that Frank lifts me; the movement hurts a lot, so I hiss in pain. I find it getting harder to breath and keep my eyes open.

"Gerard, stay awake. You can't sleep you might not wake up. Come on, stay awake." He says in a worried tone. He is so beautiful, but I don't even think he's gay. So, I have no chance with him.
"Frank, I can't breathe I don't think the nurse is going to be able to help." He shakes his head and changes direction towards his car.

"Can you sit up or should I lie you in the back?" He asks as we approach the vehicle. "Back, I don't know how much longer I will keep my consciousness, Frank." He quickly puts me in the back and slithers into the driver seat. He pulls away from the school; he speeds me to the hospital. Frank carries me out of the car and rushes me to the hospital. The nurses take me from Frank. He begins to tell the nurses what happened and that he takes care of me, also that my father won't do anything to help me. They believe him and tell him to wait out here, but he convinces them otherwise.

They take me to a room, Frank following. It looks like they are going to give me an x-ray but I have no clue because I feel a sudden pain in my arm. I look down just to find a needle inside of me; I start to panic because I hate needles, but it fades quickly when I do.

Frank's P.O.V.

I watch them sedate Gerard and prepare him for the machine that will check to see if his ribs are broken. I sit down on the floor, watching the whole event in front of me. I can't believe Craig touched my Gerard, The Mortal that I have fallen for. I know he probably isn't gay but hey a vampire can dream can't he?Before I know it, Gerard is out of the machine and being carried to a room; I follow after, and they close the door, so Gerard and I are alone, once again.

An hour later Gerard begins to stir awake. He shifts and calls out. "Frank, you are still here, right?" "Yes, I'm right here, Gerard." "Everything hurts," He responds. "Do you want me to get a Doctor?" He nods and I walk out of the room and walk towards a physician. I explain what Gerard wants, and he walks with me back into the room to give him his medication.
