Frank is living in an uptight society where vampires are viewed with fear and disgust. As he tries to make his way through high school he finds these prejudiced views forced onto him and a hatred begins to brew inside him.
Gerard is a fanged creature of the shadows, finding ways to survive in the forests with others of his kind. He experiences the desire to feel sunlight and to touch the warmth of a human body, to escape the ultimate cold always over him.
When the two come into acquaintance, is there any way Gerard can untie the knot of hate tightening on Frank... or will their whirlwind emotions only lead to destruction?
