Keep Your Distance.
Chapter Two
Summer came by so quickly. It's only been 03 weeks since I've been here, and I was already getting use to it. It was a lot of work to make sure everything was going to plan for Gerard's guests, but the servants were doing well. They were all gathered in the kitchen, placing platters onto their arms.
I walked in, scowling at Dree who was, again, wearing her hoodie. She looked at me and frowned in sadness, "I'm sorry." She hesitated but took off her hoodie, exposing her black and white uniform.
Ray complained, "There's so many plates to carry."
I hushed him, gesturing him to the hall, "The Master does not want any fall outs, you hear? We're doing so well so far and I don't want any of us to be a clutz today."
Harmen asked out of curiousity, "Who are we expecting?"
I paused, "I-I'm not sure. But The Master assured me that it's a very wealthy family as well. He says that he wants everything perfect."
And it was perfect indeed. We served the guests--they seemed to be a family of 04. A mother, father, a young girl, and a woman dressed in a black, tight dress. She sat next to Gerard who picked at his food. I frowned, leaning into his ear, "Is the food okay?"
Gerard glanced at me, but said nothing.
The woman in the black dress said, "Gerard, dear, who is this young man?" Her eyes set on me.
Gerard introduced me, "This is Iero. Frank Iero. He is here to keep the staff aline since his father's passing." Gerard smiled very softly at me, "He's doing a wonderful job so far."
I felt my face burn hot, but I didn't let it show. I smiled in gratitude, "Thank you, Master."
Gerard frowned once again, "Iero, meet the Winston family. Carma is my soon to be bride. We are still discussing about the marriage." The woman in the black dress, Carma, added, "It's going to be spectacular!"
Gerard didn't seem to excited. He instead got up from his seat, "Excuse me." He straightened out his back before heading into the restroom. I stood my ground as I was taught to, standing beside Gerard's chair.
Carma's mother stated, "I hope young Gerard is able to make the right decision since his father's passing years ago."
I didn't stop myself in time, "What do you mean?"
Mrs. Winston said, "Well, as we all know, Gerard's father died when he was 25...leaving billions of money to his son to care. That's where we come in, if he and my daughter get married, we can expand his money to a greater cause instead of wasting it on hookers and drugs." She held back her laugh on the last three words.
I do notice the late nights Gerard stays up. His eyes are red, tired. And there was a groan in the distance of a man, sometimes a woman, from his room. I never questioned his sexuality, because I don't care. It's his business, but I do sometimes get worried about him. The drugs seemed to be a big part of his life.
Gerard returned to his seat, and the night was full of drinks and conversation. I do get tired from standing in the same spot for some time, but Gerard allowed me to sit down--which was odd. Anyway, when the Winston family had finally left, Gerard had said, "Fucking two-faced jerks." He paused when he saw me, "What?" His tone rose in anger.
I looked away, "N-nothing Master."
Gerard sighed, "Do you mind bringing me a glass of water before I go to bed?"
"Of course, I'll get the servants to--"
"No, you...not them." He said, looking at from the corner of his eye.
I nodded, "Okay..."
Gerard gave me a one-nod before turning his back to me, heading into his room.
Yeah, what's the problem? Haha
