Lady Of Sorrows? I Think Not!
I'm Not Okay (I Promise)
Frank's mind was sluggish, a crooked grin split his cheeks as he relaxed in the smoky room and watched as Ray leaned over the tabletop to cut the white, almost sparkling, powder into fine lines for him. It was a relief to not have to do it himself, he always took too much at once when he did. Leaning forward when Ray indicated he was finished, Frank took the rolled up bank note and was about to take his first hit of the week when his phone chirped from its position on the couch. Mikey's caller ID blinked at him as his ringtone blared almost soudlessly to him. Distracted, Frank moved back to the couch to answer, not hearing Ray's rant about wasting 'good shit' behind him.
"Mikez, hey man. What's up?" Frank sounded perfectly normal, though he was anything but at this point.
"What's up?! Are you fucking joking man? Where are you? You were gone all of sunday and you missed every class today, and you haven't been answering your phone." Mikey's voice was concerned, not angry, with just a hint of the hurt he felt at being ditched.
"Holy shit! Man I'm so sorry. I had to rush over to a friend's place. He had a massive family emergency and I ended up crashing here. I couldn't just leave him, but I should have told you." Mikey mumbled something along the lines of 'yeah, you should have' or 'next time...' but Frank had stopped paying attention. Until one word snapped him back to the conversation. "Wait, Mikey, say that again."
"I said, no one has been able to reach Gerard since he texted Pete and Vic last night that he was with us, and apparently he didn't come home either." Mikey's voice was exasperated, he hated to repeat himself, especially when it was something as important as this. Frank swore softly.
"I'll meet you at the dorm. I'll just change quick and we'll go look for him." Mikey thanked him a little sarcastically, still sore after being ignored all day, and hung up after promising to see each other in half an hour. Frank turned to Ray, took his wallet out and gave him the money for the coke he hadn't had. "Save it for next time, man." Ray grinned and agreed, pretending to listen to excuses as he walked Frank to the door. He rolled his eyes and flipped the bird at the door as it closed behind the short young man before turning back to the stuff spread out on his coffee table. Little prick had left him with a big fucking mess to clean up.
Frank rushed across the dorm to get to their room ahead of Mikey and immediately went to the shower to wash the smell of dope off of his skin, scrubbing until it almost hurt. He sighed heavily as the hot water washed over him; it really felt amazing. His skin softly tingling from the stimulation, Frank closed his eyes and let his mind drift to thoughts almost as steamy as his shower, leaning back against the delightfully cold wall as he lost himself in his shower thoughts.
Mikey's fist pounding on the bathroom door jerked him back to reality, and he felt himself flush from embarrassment as he realized what state Mikey could have walked in on. Cock in hand and Gerard's name unwittingly on his lips, Frank had gotten utterly distracted. His shattered thoughts were finding it hard to tie themselves back together. Thinking cold-shower thoughts, Frank dried off quickly and walked out to find a seriously pissed off Mikey.
"Dude, you've been in there for like fourty minutes. We need to go see if Gerard is at work; he isn't answering that phone either." Frank apologised and grabbed the first clothes in his closet - black skinnies, a Smashing Pumpkins shirt, also black, and black sneakers- and yanked them on as quickly as possible before shoving his phone and other essentials into his pockets and running after Mikey. Frank was a lot shorter than his friend, and because Mikey was angry, he didn't feel like slowing his long stride to make it easier to keep up with him. Frank knew it wasn't on purpose, Mikey was just in his own head and he was worried about his brother. To be honest, as much as he could be right now, Frank was really worried too. If anything had happened to Gerard... No. He wouldn't assume the worst. It was just a few missed calls at this point.

The door to the cafe burst open as Mikey arrived. It had barely swung closed when he reached the counter and stopped in front of a shocked looking Gerard, standing in his normal place behind the counter, his uniform immaculate and not looking the least bit tired.
"What the fuck Gerard?" Mikey didn't mean to snap, but it still came across that way. Frank tried desperately to stay out of it, staying as far from Gerard as he could, even refusing to look at the lovely, soft creature that so needed comfort after being yelled at for nothing.
Gerard's hurt expression calmed Mikey somewhat, and he realized that he was making a scene in front of the few afternoon customers. They soon turned back to their drinks and conversation. Gerard swept his black hair out of his face and gave Mikey a confused look. "What are you talking about, Mikez? Are you okay? What happened?"
"I should be asking you that!" Mikey whispered harshly, angry at himself for worrying so much more than upset with his older brother. Gerard continued to look confused, but his eyes found Frank standing in front of the large bookshelves. "Hey Frank," Gerard called to him, but when he was completely ignored he turned back to Mikey.
"I don't know what youre talking about Mikez."
"Bullshit. Check your damn phone." Gerard frowned at his little brother, but did it anyway. Unlocking his phone, Gerard seemed surprised to see how many missed calls he had.
"But..." Gerard's voice was soft, almost inaudible, "it didn't even ring." He glanced up at his brother. "I swear, it didn't even ring once. We did have a really busy morning though; I must have not heard them." Mikey sighed, having finally gotten over his anger and sat on a stool across from his brother, while Frank's continued silence got a slightly wounded look from Gerard.
"Gee, where have you been? Man, tell me what happened." Gerard met his brother's eyes and took a deep breath. Would Mikey believe him? He highly doubted it...
