Sugar, You'll Be Okay (Frerard)
I Swear I Heard Demons Yelling
"Frankie, you need to wake up." Gerard sobbed before taking a deep breath. "Please, Frankie." His voice shook but I could tell he was holding back tears. "The doctor said talking to you might help, but you never respond. I feel like I'm going crazy." Gerard chuckled, his voice getting caught in his throat.
"Umm, let's see. School is awful without you." I heard shuffling and then a familiar weight dipped in the bed as he took my hand in his warm ones. "Those dickbags, the popular ones, Tyler and Josh suspect we're fucking and it hurts. Like, I almost wish we were." Gerard paused, probably running a hand through his unwashed black hair. Usually it was washed for school and stuff, but Gerard was probably too stressed to shower.
"I-I stood up for myself, sort of. I didn't deny it, because I like you. Like, a lot. More than a friend and more than a teacher should feel towards his student. I'm a pedophile, aren't I? I'm just a sick old man, huh?" Gerard sighed. "Y-Your hands are so fucking cold. Like, it's crazy. These machines stop working and you're dead. I mean, I guess that's what it's like for us too. Our machines, organs, stop working and we're gone. So, what makes us special? Why should I continue living? I could be gone in a heart beat, so what makes my life any more special than someone else's?" Something wet dropped onto my hand as Gerard's grip tightened. I wanted to hug him so bad and I couldn't. It wasn't fair.
"Frankie. I need you to wake up. Even getting out of bed hurts knowing I won't see you." Gerard whispered.
"I'm working on a song. Would you like to hear it?" The cracking in Gerard's voice let me know he wasn't done crying, but he was trying to lighten the mood. I'd love to hear it. Alas, I couldn't tell him as much..
