Love is the red of the rose on your coffin door
.Chapter One.
hello my lovelies. this is the first fanfic I've written that I'm actually publishing. please tell me if it's okay? xoxo
Frank's pov.
"Okay, Franklin Iero?" The man in front of me begins to speak. "Um, Just Frank please." I cut in, he glared at me like I was some punk. I guess I kind of gave off the feeling I was one because of my looks, however I was not. The man, Mr. Jackson, the principal, continued on with what he was saying. "Okay, Frank. Here is your schedule." He handed me a sheet of paper. First I had Math, then Biology, Lunch, English, History, Spanish, and last Art. I was taking gym online, the idea of running around doing sports makes me cringe. The principal continued talking about the school, classes, electives, etc. I stared at the wall absentmindedly, until the door to the principals office opened suddenly revealing a teacher and another student. "What is it now?" Mr. Jackson groaned, it seemed like this happened often. The student looked at me and smirked, while the teacher complained about what he did. I didn't know how to react so I just directed my gaze somewhere else in the room, then the principal spoke to me "Frank, I think you're ready to go to class now. If you need anything you can ask a teacher or another student. I'm sorry, but I need to deal with Gerard now." He frowned, and basically kicked me out of his office out into the hall. I looked at my schedule, not exactly sure where any of my classes were. Well, this is gonna suck. I looked around, taking in my surroundings, then the bell rang and students came rushing out of every door. Most of them were taller than me, I'm about 4'9" anyway... I got shoved into a wall, hitting my face on a locker. Some kids just laughed at me, and I struggled to get through the sea of teenagers. My first class was Math, but since first period just ended, I have to go to biology.
...
I walked into the classroom. Kids were throwing things, and laughing and being loud, the teacher wasn't even in the room. I quickly walked toward a desk in the back, there wasn't many people around in the back corner, which I was pleased with. I carefully pulled out my notebook and scribbled down notes that were written on the board. I actually wanted to pass school. "Hi!" A cheery voice came out of no where, I looked up and realized the voice had came from a boy with brown hair that was straightened and placed perfectly shaping his face, he had rectangle framed glasses and he had a small smile. "H-hello." I muttered, I'm shy, and no one ever notices me. I happen to hate attention. "So, you're the new kid. Frank, right?" He smiled wider "U-uh yes.... How did you know my name?" I was a bit nervous, I only got here a little while ago. "Oh, sorry. I read it off your schedule." He chuckled, I did leave my schedule on my desk, and it did have my name on it. "Anyway, I'm Mikey Way." He held out his hand, which I took to be polite. "You should sit with my friends and I at lunch." He smiled, "U-um, What if your friends don't like me...?" I frowned slightly. Mikey looked at me kindly, "They'll love you! You're adorable!" I smiled and blushed lightly, and the teacher began speaking suddenly "Alright, everyone get to your seats. Mikey, leave the new kid alone, you're scaring the poor boy." Mikey pouted and sat down in the desk next to me anyway. The teacher seemed alright, he definitely wasn't a mean teacher but he wasn't a kind one either. He told us the work we needed to do, then left us alone. He just sat at his desk eating donuts. I completed my work, and then the bell rang signaling us for next class, which wasn't really a class. It was just lunch. "Come on, Frankie!" Mikey laughed, grabbing my hand and pulling me from my seat. I could barely grab my notebook, because I was being dragged out of the school by him so quickly. "Eek! Mikey, I can walk on my own. You don't have to drag me along." I groaned, "Haha, no. I'm dragging you whether you like it or not." He laughed, and pulled me over to a table where there was a boy with a huge fro, and another boy who I recognized from the principal's office this morning, it was Gerard. "Mikey!!!!" The Afro guy came running over and grabbed him in a hug. I was just standing near them awkwardly, Gerard was too focused on his notebook, drawing? I think. "Who's this?" Fro asked, Mikey smiled and pulled me over "This" He said holding me in front of him "Is Frank." I stared up at the guy with the fro, he was much taller than me. He was a little taller than Mikey, but he was also a lot more built than him as well. Fro looked me over, studying me, almost. He seemed quite intimidating, and then he smiled a huge smile. "FRANKIE!!!" He yelled and pulled me into a huge bear hug. "eek!" I screamed a little, which made him and Mikey start laughing "You're so adorable!" The fro guy said. "Oh, I'm Ray, by the way." He said, and I smiled at him kindly. These guys seemed alright, I wasn't so sure about Gerard though. He ignored everything, and was just drawing. Apparently, Mikey had noticed I was staring at him and said "That's my brother, Gerard. He's always quiet when he's drawing. I'll introduce you to him." Mikey pulled me over to the table. "Gerard!" He poked him on the cheek, Gerard continued drawing like nothing even happened. I tried to see what he was drawing, but I couldn't tell because he had the paper covered by his other arm. His hair was covering most of his face, as well. Mikey groaned and yelled in Gerard's ear "GERARD! THIS IS FRANK. HE'S MY NEW BEST FRIEND!" Mikey yelled, which caused Gerard to look up. "Alright man, calm down. Give me a second to finish this drawing." He grinned, although his eyes were watching me carefully. Mikey hadn't seemed to notice though, he just pulled me onto the bench with him. Gerard continued drawing, Ray was eating his lunch, and Mikey had began to take out his but stopped, "Frankie, don't you have lunch?" I looked down at my hands that were folded on my lap "I got my lunch money stolen in the hall..." I trailed off, I was trying to get to biology and this kid slapped me and demanded I give him my lunch money, I said no but he shoved me into a locker and took it from my bag anyway. I didn't think much of it, kids are just mean. I don't really need to eat lunch anyway. Mikey stared at me for a moment, he seemed to be unsure of what to say, then a voice spoke up which could only have been Gerard's "Do you know who it was?" He asked, his hazel eyes stared into mine, he seemed so concerned although, I'm not sure why he cared. "U-uh no." I frowned slightly, "Well, if anyone bothers you again, come to us!" Mikey said proudly, and Gerard just smiled at me kindly. He had put his sketchbook away, and was just sitting there. Ray continued eating, he was really absorbed in his food. "Hey Frank, you wanna come over to our house after school." Mikey grinned, "Ray is going, and so is our friend, Amber. She doesn't go here, she's homeschooled." I thought for a moment before answering "U-um, sure. Where do you live though...?" I asked awkwardly, I've never been invited to anyone's house before, I've never even had a friend before. After Mikey told me where he as Gerard lived, we all talked and laughed. Until the bell ran. "Hey Frank, What class do you have now?" Mikey asked, he had his arm wrapped around my shoulder, he loved being close to people. "Um..." I pulled my schedule out of my pocket "I have English..." As soon as I said that, Mikey's face lit up and he seemed really excited "OH Gerard has that too!" He said passing me over to Gerard, who grabbed onto my hand. I felt heat rising to my cheeks, Gerard's hands were soft and his body gave off a lot of warmth. I wanted to cuddle with him, he was so warm. Gerard must've noticed me blushing, and he smirked at me "Well, this is where we part." Mikey said dramatically, him and Ray waved bye to Gerard and I, and walked toward their class. "Come on, shorty." Gerard laughed, and dragged me along toward English. "I'm not that short..." I mumbled, which caused Gerard to laugh hysterically. "You are short as fuck." He smiled, and patted my head. "Well, you're tall as fuck." I smirked at him, and reached up and patted his head, just like he did to me. "I feel honored." He chuckled and walked into the class, which had to have been English. "Oh, I see you have a new punk friend, Gerard." The old English teacher spat, she seemed like the type to judge people on their appearances. "Yeah, yeah." Gerard rolled his eyes, and dragged me to the back of the class where their was two untaken desks. This class went by horribly slow. Ms. Smith, the teacher, went on and on about one thing. Gerard had fallen asleep and I was on the verge of sleep as well, but I needed to do well in school. This teacher already didn't like me because I was friends with Gerard. I guess Gerard is the kind of kid the teachers hate, it seemed to be true as all the teachers in the hall glared at him when we walked by.
...
The rest of the day went by like normal, I got spit on by a few kids in the halls. I had Gerard in two classes, English and Art. Turns out he's an amazing artist. Mikey, was in one of my classes, which was Biology. As for Ray, he was in none of my classes, unless you count lunch as a class...
Anyway, I had gotten through my first day of school, and I didn't get beaten up as bad as I thought I would. Also, I made three friends. I've never had friends before, so I was really excited. Everyone was going to Mikey's house, well Gerard and Mikey's house. I told them I had to grab a few things from my house, and then I would meet them there. They all hugged me, then we parted ways. As soon as I got into my house, I knew my mother was probably drunk and passed out somewhere. Since my father died a few years back, she's been really depressed. She's a bad drunk too, and she tends to beat me when she's drunk and awake. I have scars and bruises to prove it... Quietly, I tip-toe upstairs to my room and grab a bag, which I stuff some clothes into, grab my phone and cigarettes. That's when I noticed my razor, it was lying on my dresser. No. I took it in my hand and placed it underneath some papers, I can last one night without it. I'll be fine. I closed my eyes and breathed in and out before quickly tip-toeing back downstairs and out of my house. I hadn't seen my mum, I'm sure she's okay...
Once I was on the street, I pulled out a cigarette and lit it then placed it between my teeth. The walk to Mikey's house should take about ten minuets, enough time for me to get a smoke or two in.
