But The Past Aint Through With You

When You Walk Away I Count The Steps That You Take

Helena woke up early the next morning. She left a note telling the gorls where she would be and then left the house.
Moments later, she arrived back to the former Killjoy hideout: the abandoned diner.
It was still as empty as they left it, but that was not the reason she came there.

She approached the cemetary mailbox with two envelopes filled with ash: one labled "R.E.M." and the other "Q.C.A." She kneeled down to the mailbox and lowered her head.
"Bert. Quinn." she said. "You two were always there for me during those seven years of Hell. You stood up for me. You even lied to Korse when you had to. You guys never tried to rat me out to him, even if it ment ending your own lives..."
She started sobbing just from speaking to them.
"All I have had after you two got ghosted was my youngest twin son that I named after you two. And now Darlene....fucking Darlene......she's kidnapped both him and my oldest as well. She has them held hostage in Tokyo with Fun Ghoul's daughters as well....."
Her sobs increased.
"I still blame myself gor part of the reason you both are gone." she continued. "If I hadn't had made you lie to Korse for me, you two would still be here."
She began to slowly calm down as rain began to fall on the desert.
"I know you two wouldn't want me to keep blaming myself for this, but I still can't get passed it." she added. "I just wish I could bring you two back."
She then placed down two roses by the mailbox, stood back up and held the envelopes in her hands.
"The good news," she continued. "is that Ghoul ghosted Korse five years ago. And the rest of the Killjoys are out in the ocean somewhere heading to Tokyo to get the kids back. Things will get better. I just wished you two were able to see it."

She kissed each envelope before opening the mailbox.
"Goodbye, Bert and Quinn." she concluded. "My two closest friends I've have these past few years. Someday, we'll soon meet again."
She placed the envelopes into the slot and closed the mailbox.
And after just a few moment of silence, she returned home.
