The Storm
Thanksgiving Night
“So...” Gerard asked as they walked through the front door. “Did you have a good Thanksgiving?” It had been a long day and now as night fell they were finally home.
Lucy knelt down to release the leash from Sam’s collar. As soon as she did the dog bounded off. Her answer came when she stood up. “It was a lovely Thanksgiving.”
Honestly he’d wondered how she felt because she’d been rather quiet in the car on the drive home.
“Alicia’s turkey was much better than a potpie.”
He exhaled the breath he’d been holding. “You two really seemed to have hit it off.”
“Yep, we did.” She nodded to the bag he was holding, “You should put the leftovers in the fridge.”
“Right.” He started to the kitchen knowing she was following. “Thanksgiving leftovers are the best part of the holiday.”
Lucy watched as the placed several items in the refrigerator.
When he was done he turned to her. “I really wish I didn’t have the taping to do tomorrow.”
Taking a seat at the breakfast bar she thought a moment before answering. “You seemed really excited about it when you were discussing it with Mikey.”
He too took a seat. “I am excited to film, it’s been too long since the band has done that but it’s the timing. I know it’s gonna take all day and I’d rather spend my time with you.” When he saw she was frowning he asked, “What’s wrong?”
“I get the feeling you are a born performer, you love it.”
“Well yeah.” He admitted.
“And” Lucy went on quickly, “I understand that, it’s still sorta new to me but after dinner once I’d showed Alicia my web site she pulled up several of your videos for me to watch.”
Gerard hadn’t realized that. “Why?”
“Because she believes I need to understand more about your life and she’s right, I guess. I honestly had no idea how popular your band is. One video was a live performance in Mexico. Wow, I’ve never seen so many people in one place.”
He knew she must be talking about a video from Then Black Parade is Dead. “Yeah, that was a huge show.”
Lucy looked down at her folded hands on the granite top. “It was so strange to see the man I knew from Kansas up on that stage. It was like watching a stranger.”
He reached across to take one of her hands in his. “Same guy Lucy, just different circumstance.”
“There’s just so much I still don’t know.” She said softly.
He gave her hand a gently squeeze, “Please, explain how you’re feeling.”
Lucy sighed, “That’s hard. Maybe I’m just a bit overwhelmed but today I realized there is so much about your life I didn’t know. See sometimes I think you forget that. When you and Mikey were talking about Ray and Frank it took me a few minutes to realize they are your band mates.”
“I’m sorry.” He said slowly, “I didn’t even think about you not knowing. I should have explained to you.”
“It’s okay.” She said quickly. “I’m just tying to make you see that this is so strange for me.” She paused, “Like finding out your ex-wife is in a band. I had no idea.”
Gerard groaned inwardly, there really was a lot Lucy didn’t know.
Lucy forced herself to be honest. “It just seems you and she would have much more in common then we do.”
He was slowly beginning to understand the direction her thoughts seemed to be going in and he didn’t like it. “Lucy, that’s not true. Yeah maybe if my whole life was just being in a band then that would be true. But it’s not. Think about the time we spent together at your home. I can honestly say I was never bored and for a guy who’s always had a TV and for most of my life a computer that’s a lot to say. You and I always found something to do or talk about. We have so much in common.”
Lucy stared at him.
“It’s true.” He said softly. “Besides who can really explain love?”
At this she smiled slightly, “Alicia pretty much said the same thing.”
“Good” He nodded. “Because she’s right.” He paused, “Uh, about tomorrow…you could still change your mind and go with me. That way you’d get to meet Frank and Ray.”
“No” She said slowly, “I really want to spend some time with Alicia and after watching those videos I think she’s right, I would be overwhelmed.”
Gerard released her hand then sat back. “Yeah, okay.”
Lucy heard the sadness in his voice, “I do like your music.”
“Thanks”
She just wanted to see him smile, “And you’re awful cute on stage.”
He stared at her a moment then laughed, “Oh, really?”
“Yeah, really.” Slowly she slid off her bar stool, “If it’s okay, I’ll take a shower now and put on my PJ’s.”
“Sure.” He too stood. “I was thinking we could curl up on the sofa and watch a Thanksgiving movie.” When she remained silent he added quickly “or a Christmas movie, it you’d like that better.”
Lucy’s mind had returned a moment to the time they’d spent in Kansas watching movies. She smiled, “Name a Thanksgiving movie.”
“Oh” he grinned, “Well, Miracle on 34th Street is sorta one. I mean it starts off with the Thanksgiving Day parade. Or one of my favorites is Planes, Trains and Automobiles. Have you seen it?”
Lucy shook her head.
“It’s a great comedy, all about two guys trying to get home for the holiday.”
“Sounds like we have a winner.” Lucy smiled. “I’ll just be a few minutes.”
Again he tried to ignore his disappointment; he’d hoped she’d suggest showering together.
Lucy was almost out of the kitchen when she suddenly turned. “You’re frowning.”
He quickly tried to smile. “What?”
Lucy leaned against the doorway trying to put her feelings into words. “I know I’m not…I’m not acting the same way I did before.”
Now that it was out in the open he wasn’t sure what to say. “I’m not exactly sure what you mean?”
“Before, back in Kansas, before Mikey showed up…” Her voice trailed off. “I’m sorry.” She whispered.
He took a deep breath, “Honey, I know this is all pretty difficult for you.”
“It is difficult.” She wanted him to understand. “Sometimes I look at you and you seem almost like a stranger to me.” She looked down, “I guess seeing how you really live, meeting your family, has shown me how much I really didn’t know about you.”
He took several steps towards her then stopped. “Lucy, I’m the same man you fell in love with.”
“I want to believe that.” She said softly. “And I really want to fit in here.”
“But you do. You said yourself today was great. I know it’s gonna take some time for you to really feel comfortable here but it’s what I want more than anything.”
She looked into his eyes. “I’m just afraid.”
“Afraid of what?” He asked closing the distance between them but still not touching her.
“Afraid this won’t work out. We really are from two different worlds.”
He slowly reached out to touch her arm. “Yeah, in a way that’s true. So why don’t we simply make our own world together?”
She smiled sadly, “That would be nice if it was possible but it isn’t. You have a wonderful life, one full of friends and family. I wouldn’t want you to lose any of that.”
“I promise this will all work out. I know you don’t believe that but I do. We are meant to be together. I believe that from the bottom of my heart. Just promise me you’ll give this a chance. I won’t rush you.”
Lucy’s mind was in turmoil. As much as she wanted to believe things would work out between them she was still filled with doubt. She wished she could explain to him her biggest concern but now wasn’t the time. For now she just wanted to be with the man she loved and hope their time together wouldn’t come to an end. “Could I make a quick call to Lisa?”
Gerard was surprise by the sudden change the conversation had taken. “Lisa? Oh, your friend in Kansas.”
Lucy nodded, “Yeah, I didn’t get a chance to call and tell her I was leaving. I wouldn’t want her and Karl to worry.”
He placed his arm around her shoulder. “Sure, come on.”
As he lead her towards his study he asked, “Does she Skype?”
“Yes, I’ve seen her do that with her son who lives in Colorado.”
“Good then you can Skype her. That way she can see you’re okay.”
Lucy frowned, “Honestly I just wanted to call her.”
Something he’d been wondering about forced its way into his brain. “So I guess you didn’t bring your cell?”
By this time they’d reached the study and Gerard was rounding the desk. He sat down then looked up at Lucy waiting for her answer.
“My cell got broken.” She said not meeting his eyes.
“The phone I bought you?”
Lucy folded her arms. “Yeah, right after you left.”
He waited but she offered no other explanation.
She knew he was staring at her. “Okay fine. So obviously you’re not supposed to throw the damn things against the wall.”
Gerard tried not to smile, “Yeah, I’ve heard that can be bad.”
“Smashed that sucker into a million pieces.” Lucy said finally looking at him. “I was a little angry at the time.”
He sighed, “And we both know that was my fault.” Pulling out one of the desk drawers he lifted out a cell phone. “Here.”
Lucy looked at the phone but made no effort to take it from his hand.
“Lucy” He said patiently, “I want you to have this. It’s my back up phone. That way tomorrow I’ll be able to call you.”
She slowly took it from his hand. “Fine, I’ll use it while I’m here.”
This was not what he wanted to hear. “You’ll keep it.”
“I’m not keeping your phone.” She said shaking her head.
“And tell me why my girlfriend wouldn’t want to keep my cell phone? I’d think she’d want to talk to her boyfriend.”
Hearing him call her his girlfriend caused her emotions to jump into overdrive. “I…” She stumbled but couldn’t go on.
Before she knew what was happening he pulled her onto his lap. “You are my girlfriend.” He whispered nuzzling her neck. “You have to know that. You’re my soul mate, woman.”
Their lips met and as the kiss deepened Lucy simply let her body respond to his. For now she was tired of thinking about the situation.
Gerard felt her body responding to his fingers which had slid under her blouse. “Damn” He muttered.
Her eyes widened, “Damn?”
“You have a call to make.” He said gently pushing her up but keeping her on his lap. “Then we can return to this.”
Lucy smiled, “Return to this?”
“Yeah, return to this.” His hand cupped her breast but this time through the silky material. “Cause I was really thinking I’d like to lay you over this desk…” He loved the way her cheeks flushed.
“Oh” She whispered feeling her body responding to his words. “Oh, my.”
“Let’s get your call made.” He said taking control of the situation while trying to ignore how tight his jeans suddenly felt. Her cute little butt pressing against him was making it difficult to think. “Okay what’s her number? You call her and tell her you’re gonna Skype from this number.”
It was hard but Lucy forced herself to think. She recited the number then Gerard handed her the phone. Once Lisa was on the line Lucy quickly explained she was going to call again on Skype.
“I don’t get how this works.” Lucy said disconnecting. “Uh, I should have just talked to her.”
“This is will better.” Gerard promised.
A minute later Lisa appeared on the screen. “Lucy” She smiled, “Since when did you get a camera for your computer?” It was obvious her friend was confused.
“Uh, it’s not my computer.” Lucy explained while her eyes went to the bottom of the screen where she could see herself and Gerard. “I’m not home.”
“I was wondering.” Lisa nodded, “I tried to call you this morning.”
“I’m out in California.” Lucy now wished she hadn’t allowed Gerard to do this. Lisa didn’t even know about him so explaining why she was in California with him, sitting on his lap was going to be difficult. She sighed, “Lisa, this is Gerard.”
“Hello” He waved.
“Hello” Lisa waved back.
“Gerard invited me for Thanksgiving.” Lucy explained.
“Oh, that’s nice.” Lisa looked away to explain to Karl she was talking to Lucy.
“How ya gonna explain me?” Gerard whispered into Lucy’s ear.
Lucy reached down and pinched his leg. “Hush”
Lisa had turned her attention back to the screen. “So, I guess he’s the one?”
Lucy’s eyes grew wide. “The one?”
“Yeah, the one you would never talk about.” Lisa smiled. “Karl told me you had a visitor the other night when he took you home. I’m guessing things are better between you two now?”
Lucy groaned, “I suppose you could say that.”
“I’m glad. So did you have a good Thanksgiving?”
“Very good.” Lucy answered.
“We did too. Still have some family here.” She lowered her voice, “They won’t go home.”
Lucy giggled, “Sorry to hear that.”
“Me too.” Lisa laughed, “How long are you staying in California?”
Lucy felt Gerard’s body tense. “Not sure but I’ll be back for the Christmas party.”
“Gerard, are you coming too?”
“Can’t make it.” He answered, “But I wish I could.”
“He’s going to be on tour.” Lucy decided there was no sense in trying to hide the truth. “He’s in a band.”
Lisa surprised her by nodded, “Yeah, I know.”
“You know?” Lucy was surprised.
“Lucy, Karl and I had heard some rumors. Don’t be mad but we just wanted to understand why you seemed so sad.”
“So you know about me and Gerard.”
“We knew he’d spent time with you. And between what we’d seen on the Net and talking to Clyde well….”
Lucy sighed, “Yeah, okay. I understand.”
“You two look very happy.” Lisa said softly.
“We are.” Gerard answered. “And I’m taking good care of her.”
Lucy rolled her eyes before Lisa responded, “Good, see that you do.”
They spoke several more minutes before it became apparent that Lisa had to go to because of her guests. She made Lucy to promise to call again.
Once the call was over Gerard asked, “Are you upset she knew about us?”
“I suppose I shouldn’t have been surprised. Seems I just didn’t realize a lot of people knew about us.” She stood quickly.
Gerard believed she was upset. “Lucy….”
She folded her arms.
He sighed, “Look, I’m sorry….”
Lucy cut him off. “I really don’t see how this will work.”
Fear torn through his heart believing she was talking about their relationship.
“I mean really. Look at this desk, there are way too many things on it.”
A smile appeared on his lips as he realized what she meant. Quickly he pushed items off the desk not caring that they fell to the floor. The computer screen he shoved out of the way. “There.”
Lucy’s heart was racing, “So now what?”
He pushed back his chair and stood. “So now I’m gonna make love to you.” He had to be sure. “If that’s what you want.”
That was the only thing she was sure of. “You did seem to promise that.”
“A promise I intend to keep.” His fingers slowly unbuttoned her blouse then pushed it off her shoulders. By the time he had gotten her jeans off his heart was racing. Lucy stood in only her bra and panties staring at him.
“God, you’re so beautiful.” He whispered.
Lucy smiled. “I believe you said something about laying me over this desk?”
The thought of her bending her over the desk made him moan. But first there was more he wanted to do. “Lose the bra and panties.”
She smiled, “As you wish.”
His eyes drank in the sight of her nude body was she’d done as he’d commanded. “Excellent. Now sit.” He nodded to the desk.
Lucy lifted herself up facing him.
Gerard pulled his chair into place then sat down. “Spread those legs.” His voice was a low rumble.
She leaned back on her arms then spread her legs. As he rolled the chair in-between them she tried to seem unaffected by his actions but could feel the wetness already forming.
“Beautiful” He whispered placing his hands on her inner tights to caress her soft skin. “Hot and juicy.”
She adored playing these love games with him. “How do you know for sure?”
“I can see how wet you are.” He forced himself to look into her eyes. “You know it’s true. Tell me.”
Lucy’s tongue darted out to run over her bottom lip. “I am wet and hot for you.” She purred.
“Lay back” His voice caressed her heart. “I’m gonna taste for myself.”
As she slowly lay back onto the cool wood her body was on fire. When his tongue licked her slit she couldn’t stop from moaning with pleasure.
His lips vibrated against her core. “Damn woman. You taste as good as you look.”
“Oh, Gee.” She clinched her fists at her side trying to remain still as his mouth made love to her.
For several agonizing minutes he continued to tease with his tongue. Suddenly he stood but his fingers replaced the spot where his mouth had been. “Taste” He leaned over her to press his mouth to hers while his fingers rubbed her throbbing clitoris.
Lucy could taste herself in the kiss and moaned.
Gerard’s tongue licked her bottom lip. “Good, isn’t’ it?”
“Gee” Her voice was trembling, “I need more.”
His moved back slightly so his mouth could capture her nipple. As he sucked his finger inched inside her. Lucy’s back arched wanting to meet his mouth and finger.
“Patience” He whispered still teasing her nipple.
Lucy’s body demanded more. “Please”
He stood up slowly. “Don’t move.”
She could hear the zipper of his jeans being lowered. Her body braced for his entrance but it didn’t happen. Instead he grabbed her shoulders making her slid off the desk. Before she knew what was happening he twirled her around. “I want to see that ass.” He ground out as he pushed her body back onto the desk. His hands ran over the soft skin of her buttock over and over again until she couldn’t take it anymore.
“Damn it, fuck me.” She screamed.
“As you wish.” He pulled her body towards him slightly so that his hard dick was positioned at her opening. While his hands continued to caress her ass he thrust into her.
“Yes” Lucy screamed not caring about anything but the tightening in her lower belly. “Harder.”
He loved this wild side of Lucy, so untamed so passionate. As he thrust into her harder he lifted his little finger to his mouth wetting it.
“Oh, yes” Lucy cried out when she felt that little finger push it’s way into her ass.
“That’s it.” Gerard coaxed, “Come for me.”
His words pushed her over the edge. As the orgasm tore though her body she cried out his name over and over. He pulled out his still hard dick and ran it over her ass.
It was then Lucy suddenly moved. Before he realized what was happening she’d stood, turned and pushed him back making him land in the chair. She fell to her knees in front of him.
“My turn.” She panted before taking him into her mouth.
Gerard’s hands grasped the arms of the chair as he leaned back. Lucy’s mouth was bringing him to the brink. She stopped a moment to look into his eyes. “I want to taste you.”
“Oh fuck, woman.” He knew the moment she took him back in her mouth he’d explode.
The hot, salty substance hit the back of her throat a moment later. As Gerard watched through hooded eyes she continued to suck and swallow until there was no more.
Sitting back on her heels she smiled, “You taste good too.”
“Fuck, Lucy.” He pulled her back onto his lap. “That was hot.”
Lucy wound her arms around his neck, “Yeah, hot.”
He hugged her tightly to him. “I love you.” He whispered.
“I love you.” She responded from deep in her heart. Being in his arms felt so right for now any doubts about their relationship were erased.

Hours later they were curled up on the sofa as the movie credits began to run.
“So, did you like it?”
“I love that movie.” Lucy said softly. “But I’d figured out his wife was dead.”
Gerard looked down into her eyes. “Really?”
Lucy nodded, “Yeah, I mean the whole time he never called home. Not once.”
“I actually missed that the first time I watched it.” Gerard hugged her tighter.
“This has been the perfect Thanksgiving.” Lucy whispered. “Thank you.”
“Hey, I didn’t cook the dinner.” He laughed.
It was hard to make herself admit the truth but she did. “Thank you for inviting me here.”
“Here is where you belong.” When he saw the look in her eyes he knew he was pushing. “Ready to go to bed?"
Lucy nodded.
Together they walked hand in hand to the bedroom. Once snuggled under the blankets Lucy almost immediately fell asleep. For the next hour Gerard simply watched her, holding her body tightly to his. In his mind he kept going over their situation, wondering what he could do to make her see they belonged together. It just seemed to him that something was troubling her. Things between them were so good and yet… He sighed then closed his eyes reminding himself to be patient. In his heart he knew they were meant to be together so it would work out.
Lucy knelt down to release the leash from Sam’s collar. As soon as she did the dog bounded off. Her answer came when she stood up. “It was a lovely Thanksgiving.”
