The Storm

Moving Closer

“Good morning.”

Gerard’s head snapped up, he was returning from the chicken coop with a basket of eggs and had been staring down as he walked, lost in thought. “Well, good morning to you.” He couldn’t help but smile at the beautiful look on Lucy’s face. “What are you doing up already?”

She giggled leaning against the rail of the porch, “Told you, I wake up when you’re gone.” She glanced across the yard, “So how are the girls?”

He rolled his eyes as he neared her, “Same as usual. Baby tries to peck the shit out of me every morning.” By this time he’d reached the back steps.

“Thanks for taking care of them all this time.” Lucy said softly.

He sighed dramatically, “Well it’s a nasty job but someone has to do it.”

Lucy giggled again, “You don’t mean that, you like the girls.”

“I like their eggs.” He said holding up the basket. “Which reminds me we have enough so after breakfast I’m going to take some to George.”

“Okay.” Lucy nodded, “I’ll go with you.”

He walked up the steps to join her on the porch, “Might be a good idea. George always give me the feeling he don’t trust me. Pretty sure he’s thinking I have you tied up.”

“What?”

Gerard laughed, “Yeah, bet he thinks I’ve taken over the farm and you’re my prisoner.”

“Oh, Gerard.” She smiled, “That’s silly.”

“First time I took eggs to him he said in all the time he’s know you that you’d never been sick a day in your life. I had to tell him the story about taking you to Dr Smiley. Guess it sounded true enough but I know every time I get to his farm he’s looking to see if you’re with me.”

“Well then today I’ll go and show him I’m fine. That you’ve been taking good care of me.”

As they walked into the kitchen Lucy couldn’t help but add, “But he is sorta right.”

Gerard placed the basket of eggs on the counter. “What?”

“Well you have had me tired up several times.”

“Yeah, that’s true enough.” He moved to the sink to wash his hands.

Lucy was disappointed he seemed to have dismissed that particular conversation so quickly.“Uh, I liked it.” She muttered.

Gerard was trying to keep a straight face as he dried his hands. “Liked what?” He asked turning to look over at her.

“Never mind.” Lucy frowned moving back towards the door to stare out across the yard. She didn’t realize he had joined her until his hands slid under her gown all the way up to cup her breasts.

“Never mind, what?” He whispered as he thumbs gently rubbed her nipples.

“Oh” Lucy giggled, “Guess the topic did capture you attention.”

“Topic?” Gerard said as his fingers continued to caress. “Oh you mean me tying you up.”

“Gerard.” Lucy sighed, “You know damn good and well that’s what I mean.”

He nuzzled the side of her neck. “You know I think my hand discovered something interesting.”

“What?” The sweet attention his fingers were giving her breasts was making it difficult to think.

“Well when it slid under your gown I’m pretty sure you didn’t bother putting those satin panties back on.”

Lucy’s body was beginning to tremble with anticipation. “Uh, no. I just threw on my gown to come look for you.”

“That’s nice.” His teeth gently nipped at her earlobe. “So anyway back to the discussion at hand.”

Lucy’s breath caught as his right hand left her breast to slowly travel down her stomach.
“Uh, what discussion?”

His chuckle was low and deep, “The discussion about my hand and how…” His fingers brushed over her sex. “Yep, no panties at all.”

“Oh” Lucy moaned softly.

He could feel her body quivering. “Lean against me, put your arms around my neck.”

She lifted her arms while pressing her body against his, “Well hello.” She giggled.

Gerard knew that once she’d pressed her body against his she’d felt his need. “Yeah, hello. Feel what you do to me?”

“Feel what you do to me?” She whispered as his fingers caressed her.

“You’re so fuckin’ wet” He ground out.

Lucy started to lower her arms intent on turning to face him.

"No” He barked, “Don’t move. I want you just like this.” His fingers tweaked her nipple as his other hand continued to stroke and rub.

“But…” Lucy closed her eyes. “Oh…” He’d slipped one finger inside her. “Yes” She hissed trying to push her hips forward.

“Stand still.’ He growled, “Don’t fuckin’ move. I’m gonna make you come three times.”

“Three?” Lucy’s eyes flew open. She was about to say more when he slipped another finger inside her heat. “Oh” She moaned. Again her body tried to take control, her hips moving to meet his fingers as the thrust in and out.

“Hold still, Lucy.” He warned, “Or I’ll stop.”

“No, please don’t.” She begged as the delicious sensations started to build.

“Let me hear.” He whispered into her ear. “Let me hear you come.”

“Oh” She cried out as her legs stiffened, her muscles contracted holding his fingers in place. “Yes….”

As Lucy tried to catch her breath he whispered, “That was one, Sugar.”

“Big one.” She said breathlessly. “But enough.”

“Lucy, I said three and that is what I meant. Now you’re gonna stand there like a good girl and take what I give you.” He emphasized his words by rolling her nipple between his fingers.

“Why three?” She asked trying to force her mind to work while her body was in control.

“Why not.” His teeth nipped at her neck. “Seems like a good number to start the day. Now, ready for two?”

Lucy’s legs felt like jello. “Not sure.”

His fingers were slick with her juices, “Oh, I think you’re ready.” He murmured. “Matter of fact your body is begging for it.”

“Is not.” She lied.

“Lucy, my fingers are soaked. All I have to do is…” In went his finger again.

“Oh” Lucy pressed back against him.

“Stop wiggling that cute butt.” He warned.

“But I can’t help it.” Again her eyes closed as he slid in another finger.

“So hot and wet.” He whispered sending shivers down her spine. “And all mine.”

“Yes, yours.” She cried out and her muscles contracted again. Her moaning was music to his ears. As the feeling finally began to fade she leaned against him. “No more, please.”

His tongue darted out to lick the shell of her ear. “While I do like to hear you beg I can’t go back on my word. I said three.”

She started to unlock her arms from around his neck.

Gerard didn’t try to stop her but once they had fallen to her sides he reached down and pulled her gown over her head.

“Gerard.” Lucy cried out. She’d never before stood naked at her back door.

“Arms back around my neck.” When she didn’t make a move he added sternly “Now.”

Slowly she lifted her arms again.

“Good girl.” He cooed as his hands slowly ran down her sides. “Just one more baby.”

“But what about you?”

He grinned, “I’m saving up my strength for tonight.”

“The drive-in?”

“That’s right.” Once more he placed one hand on her breast as the other moved down to the apex of her legs. “Spread a little.”

She moved her feet apart.

“Much better.” He whispered. “I think for this last one I may have to use three fingers.”

Lucy’s heart was racing.

“I’ll slip one in first like this…”

“Gerard.” Lucy cried out closing her eyes.

“Yes?” He smiled, “What?”

“I don’t think I can.”

“Oh, I’m sure you can. You’re gonna come for me one more time.”

She felt exhausted, “I don’t know.” She whispered.

He knew she needed a bit more stimulation, both visual and vocal. “I’m imagining what this must look like. You gloriously naked at the back door…fuck that’s hot.”

Lucy moaned, “It’s wicked.”

“Yeah, deliciously wicked.” Slowly he removed his finger. “Look” He held it up in front of her face. “Look hot wet you are.”

“I know.” She trembled with desire.

“And the taste.” He licked her neck sending shivers racing through her body. “Try it.”

Lucy’s first response was to shake her head.

Gerard’s other hand left her breast to replace the hand that had moved. Gently he inserted his finger. “Come on, do it.” He urged. “Suck.”

She couldn’t deny him, she couldn’t deny her body that was on fire. Her lips parted so he could slowly push his finger between them.

“That’s it, Baby. See why I love to taste you? Now suck.” His body was starting to shake.

Lucy’s lips closed around his wet finger. When she began to suck it was Gerard who moaned.

Slowly he inserted another finger into her. Lucy sucked on his finger harder.

“That’s it…Oh fuck, yeah.” Gerard leaned down to bite her shoulder.

She could feel the early ripples of her climax building, strengthening. When he used the two fingers already inside her to spread her open even further so he could insert another finger she lost all control.

Gerard closed his eyes, his body begging for release as her juices ran down his hand.

"Fuck it.” He ground out, “I’ll recover by tonight.” He stepped back to fumble with his zipper.

Lucy turned to help him. Once the jeans and boxers were pushed down his legs he didn’t waste time trying to step out of them. He simply lifted Lucy. “Wrap your legs around me.” He commanded as he pushed into her with one thrust.Unfortunately the jeans around his feet tangled causing him to almost lose his balance.

“Shit” He yelled as he tried to right himself without dropping Lucy.

“Table.” Lucy whispered as she held on to him tightly.

He understood. Taking a few very small steps he reached it. Placing Lucy on the table he now could thrust without fear of falling.

Lucy tilted her hips to meet his thrust, grabbing on to the side of the table to hold herself in place.

“Oh, Lucy.” He thrust harder, deeper. “Oh fuck.” He closed his eyes, release just moments away.

“Open your eyes” Lucy commanded.

His eyes flew open, they were glazed over with passion.

Lucy smiled, “Come for me.”

And he did. His whole body shook as he spilled into her. When he was able to catch his breath he grinned down at her. “Uh, that wasn’t supposed to happen.”

Slowly she sat up to wrap her arms around him. “And why not?”

He buried his face in her neck, “Wasn’t the plan.”

“Plans change.” She giggled feeling ridiculous happy.

After breakfast Gerard helped Lucy into the truck after packing up the eggs in crates. What he’d told Lucy was true, he was beginning to think George believed something had happened to Lucy so it was good she was going with him this morning.

“What a beautiful morning.” Lucy smiled as they started down the driveway.

Gerard looked over at her, “Well it did get off to a good start.”

Lucy giggled, “Silly man.”

He loved it when she was giggly and playful, “What?” He pretended to he hurt. “You didn’t like the way we started the day?”

“I loved the way we started the day.” She said reaching over to squeeze his arm.

“Me too.” He said softly.

It only took a few minutes to reach George’s farm. As soon as Gerard put the truck into park the old farmer appeared walking out of the barn towards them. Gerard got out to unload the egg crates while the farmer went over to Lucy’s window.

“Well good morning.” He said “Good to see you up and about. Heard you’ve been sick.”

Lucy nodded “Yes but Gerard has taken good care of me.”

“He’s been keeping me updated on your progress. Never had pneumonia myself but I’ve heard it’s a bitch.”

“It definitely is.” Lucy agreed.

By this time Gerard had unloaded the crates. “Just want them in the barn?”

George nodded. Both he and Lucy watched as Gerard carefully moved towards the barn.

“Gotta admit” George said lowering his voice. “I was mighty surprised the first time he showed up. Almost came by your place just to check on you.”

Lucy gave him a surprised look “He did explain what was happening, right?”

“Yeah, he did.” George said slowly, “But I was still a bit worried. Never known you to have any visitors let alone someone staying with you.”

“He’s an old fried.” Lucy decided it was best to stick to that story. “From out in LA.”

The old man laughed, “Well yeah, I could tell he wasn’t from around here. But when I mentioned him to Clyde he said you two had been in together.”

Lucy tried not to be annoyed that obviously she and Gerard had been the topic of discussion in the small town. She reminded herself that was just their way of looking out for each other.

George could tell she was uncomfortable with the discussion. “Anyway” He said “He seems like a decent enough fellow. Says he’s a writer.”

“He is.” Lucy nodded, she saw Gerard walking out of the barn, “He’s been working on a novel while caring for me.”

“So will he be staying on now that you’ve recovered?”

The question caught Lucy off guard. The idea of Gerard leaving was one she had refused to allow herself to consider but always in a locked up portion of her brain it was there. “I’m not sure.” She muttered.

“Okay all done.” Gerard said as he slid back into the truck. Immediately he wondered why Lucy wasn’t smiling.

George took a step back from the truck. “I’ll get em’ sold.”

“Thanks” Lucy said. She turned to Gerard, “Ready?”

He picked up on her apparent desire to leave quickly “Yep” He nodded as he started the truck.

They said their goodbyes then headed back down the road.

“So, he grill you about me?” Gerard asked.

Lucy sighed, “Yeah, sort of.” She offered no more information.

“And you said?” He was very curious.

“I said you’d been taking good care of me.”

There was something in her tone that bothered him. “Told you the guy’s been worried about you.”

Nervously she tapped her fingers on the seat. “Just because, as he pointed out, I’ve never had any visitors before. Guess everyone in town had me pegged as a recluse and I was.”

He just wanted to see her smile again, “You were until I showed up with the tornado.”

Lucy just wanted to feel the happiness she’d felt before. “That’s true.” She smiled, “You really blew into my life.” She scooted over to lean her had against his shoulder. “Winds of change and all that.”

He brushed a quick kiss on her head while keeping his eyes on the road, “I love you.”

“Love you too.” Lucy whispered pushing all thoughts of him leaving from her mind.

_________________________________________________________

“So what did he say?” Alicia asked cradling two cups of coffee in her hands as she joined her husband on the patio. She knew Mikey had been speaking on the phone to Alan, the private investigator they’d hired.

“He tracked down the bank teller that was working the day Gerard withdrew money from his account. She’s been on maternity leave.”

“I thought the police checked the video at the bank, didn’t they talk to her?”

“No, the just watched to make sure he was alone when he withdrew the money. Like I said she’s out on maternity leave so they didn’t question her.”

Alicia perched on the side of the desk. “What did she say? Did she know where Gerard was going?”

He sighed, “She remembers talking to him. She said he seemed okay just sort in a hurry. He told her he was leaving on a trip. That he couldn’t wait to get out of LA and hit the open road but he did tell her he was heading up to Sacramento.”

“Sacramento? Why?”

Mikey shook his head, “I have no idea but the subject came up because she told him that’s where she’s originally from and wished she could go back there because that’s here her family is.”

“So Gee told her that was where he was going?”

“Yep, guess so. He told her it seemed like a good spot to start from to cross the country.”

Immediately she felt relieved. “See, I knew all along he planned this.”

Mikey nodded, “Yeah well there’s more. Alan says this is a great lead. It gives his firm a place to start their search.”

Alicia found it difficult to stay positive. “But Sacramento is a huge city.”

“Well since Gee left so late in the day he assumed he couldn’t have gone very far without stopping for the night. Problem is though the teller says she offered to tell about some places he could stay there but he told her he wasn’t planning on staying in Sacramento.”

“So he was just driving up to Sacramento but not staying there?”

“That seems to be how it sounded.” Mikey sighed, “Still Alan assures me this is still a good lead. He’s going to concentrate the search on towns not too far out of Sacramento going on the assumption he’d have to stop for the night to sleep.”

Alicia took a sip of her coffee. “So how are they going to handle this without people knowing it’s Gerard they’re looking for?”

“I asked the same thing. Alan said they are concentrating more on asking about Gerard’s car, I mean it is sorta memorable to a lot of people. He also explained they are only planning on questioning older people hoping not to run into anyone who would actually recognize Gerard.”

“You mean fans.”

He nodded, “Yeah, since the majority of our fan base is younger…”

“So they’re hoping someone remembers his car but not him.”

Mikey nodded, “That’s the hope. Alan also said that since Gerard is paying cash for everything that is also something a lot of people will remember.”

“We do live in an age of plastic.” Alicia nodded.

“Right. Alan said that hotels especially will make note of paying with cash as opposed to a credit card.”

Alicia had a thought, “But don’t motels usually have you write down your car license when you register?”

Mikey had already thought the same thing. “Yeah, but Alan is guessing Gerard wouldn’t really write down the correct license plate number and to be honest hardly anyone ever checks.”

“So I’m betting he has been giving this real name either.”

“Doubt he has.” Mikey sighed, “Especially if it’s true he doesn’t want to be found or recognized.”

“But I thought he said he was going to concentrate his search in Kansas?”

“He will.” Mikey took a sip of his coffee, “Matter of fact he’s planning on flying there day after tomorrow.” He leaned back in his chair, “I don’t know it just seems like it’s looking for a needle in a haystack. There are so many towns full of places Gee could stay between here and Kansas.”

Alicia didn’t want him to give up hope. “Hey, Alan’s company is supposed to be one of the best. And remember like he told us, they’ve dealt with a lot of celebrities, people I’m guessing are much more recognizable than Gerard so I’m sure they’re gonna handle this correctly.”

He smiled knowing she was trying to keep his spirits up. “Yeah, that’s all true. I just hope they find something soon.”

“Me too.” She placed her hand on his arm. “But until they do, we’re just gonna keep a positive attitude.”

Mikey looked at her with love in his eyes, “You’re my strength, you know that, right?”

Alicia smiled, “We’re each others strength.”

When they got back to the house Lucy convinced Gerard she was feeling so much better that she wanted to work on typing up some of the writing he’d done. She’d been typing for about an hour when Gerard spoke.

“Think you should take a break now.”

Lucy finished typing the sentence she was on then turned to him. “Just let me finish this chapter.”

While he appreciated the work she was doing he still worried, “Look, I just don’t want you tiring yourself. Besides you don’t want to be tired tonight, right?”

Lucy giggled, “Nope and I definitely hope you’ve recovered by then.”

He grinned, “I’m sure I will.” This morning’s activities were still fresh in his mind.

They were fresh in Lucy’s mind too which was why she was giggling.

Gerard narrowed his eyes trying to pretend sternness, “Woman, are you laughing at me because I couldn’t control myself this morning?”

“Maybe.”

He walked over to the desk, “Oh I think that’s exactly what you’re doing. Hey it’s not my fault you’re so fuckin’ irresistible.” His fingers caress her cheek, his thumb brushed over her lips, “In that moment all I knew was I waned in.”

Lucy’s eyes flashed with desire at his words. “I wanted you in,” She whispered.

He dropped his fingers then took a step back knowing how this would end if he didn’t put a stop to it. “Fuckin’ irresistible.” He muttered. “Now finish up that chapter while I make lunch.”

“I am hungry.” Lucy said staring into his eyes, “For you.”

“Lucy” It came out as a moan, “Come on you gotta help me here. I’m trying to be a good guy and look after you. You’re still recovering from pneumonia. I get that you feel better but still…”

His words touched her, “I know and thank you. I’ll be a good girl and finish typing while you make lunch.” She turned back to the typewriter.

He had to make sure she understood, “It’s not that I don’t want you, fuck, I want you every minute of the day.”

She smiled as she began to type. “Ditto, sir.”

“Alicia”

Dropping the remote she ran into the study frightened by the sound of her husband’s voice. She found him sitting behind the desk.

“What is it? What’s wrong?”

“I just talked to Alan.” He answered nervously drumming his fingers on the desk top.

“And?”

“And they got a hit at a small motel on the outskirts of Carson City, Nevada. They sent out e-mails with photos of Gerard’s car to hotels and motels this morning.”

“Someone remembers seeing his car?”

He sighed, “Unfortunately someone remembers seeing someone who looked like Gerard Way.”

“But I thought you said they were only showing pictures of the car?”

He ran his hand through his hair nervously, “They did but the night clerk remembered the car and Gerard.”

“Oh”

“Alan said the man from his firm who spoke to her assured her it wasn’t him.”

“And she believed that?”

He sighed, “I hope so. Anyway tomorrow morning Alan is going to question her himself. He said the story he’s going to tell is that Gerard is a businessman who’s missing and his family is trying to locate him.”

She couldn’t help it, she snorted, “Gee doesn’t look like a businessman.”

“I said the same thing.” He admitted, “But Alan said he’s going to say Gerard works in the computer field and had a meltdown. That he’s got his family worried because they haven’t heard from him.”

Alicia sighed, “Suppose that might work.”

“I just can’t believe how lucky we are that they already found his trail.” Mikey said trying to focus on the positive.

“Hey, his firm is supposed to be the best.” She reminded him.

Mikey turned his laptop that was on the desk to face her. “Look, I’ve pulled up a map.” He pointed to the screen, “How the hell did he get here to somewhere there?” His finger moved to point to a spot in Kansas where the duffle bag was found.

Alicia moved closer to the screen. “Well supposedly he said he was traveling across the country.”

“Yeah, I know.” He said softly.

She heard the uncertainty in his voice. “Hey, you’re right, this is a start. Now you know he really did plan on taking off and you know his first stop. It will be interesting to see what the woman in Carson City says. Maybe Gee talked to her and we’ll have a clue as to where he was headed next.”

Mikey was still studying the map. “Yeah, hopefully.”

Neither had any clue just how much the woman remembered Gerard, and how unsettling that memory was.

_______________________________________________________

Gerard found himself singing in the shower. He was filled with anticipation about his date tonight with Lucy. Suddenly he stopped singing. Date…yeah that’s what this was but guilt made him realize it shouldn’t be. Married men don’t go on dates, the voice in his head reminded him.

“Shit.” He muttered shaking his head as he turned off the water. The last thing he wanted was to feel guilty. He tried to remind himself the woman he was going to the drive in with tonight loved him and he loved her. That was all that was important.

Lucy, who was sitting outside the doorway, leaning against the wall, wondered why he’s stopped singing so abruptly.

When Gerard, now dressed, pulled open the door he was shocked to see her. “What the hell are you doing?” He sputtered.

She smiled, “Waiting my turn to shower.”

“I thought you were still sleeping.”

Slowly she stood, “Nope, time to get ready for our date.”

Gerard flinched, and it did not go unnoticed by Lucy who was confused. “What’s wrong?”

“Nothings wrong.” He said forcing a smile. “You just sorta startled me.”

She took a step closer to him. “You know we don’t have to go tonight.”

He hated that his actions had caused her uncertainty. “Hey, I’m looking forward to it.” Wanting to change the subject he asked, “So, climbing steps… you’re okay?”

She giggled “You know I’m pretty sure Dr Smiley didn’t really mean I could never climb steps again. Besides I’m sure that was only supposed to be for the first two weeks. I feel fine now.”

He reached out to touch her cheek, “Hey, I just worry about you.”

“I know.” She whispered, “But stop. I’m fine.”

“Can’t” He said feeling himself drawn to her, “You should know that.”

Lucy giggled, “Yeah, so what was the song you were singing?”

“What?” He blinked in surprise.

“In the shower, you were singing. Oh and by the way you’ve got a great voice.”

Nervously his mind raced trying to find the answer, what the hell had he been singing? “Uh, I didn’t realize I was singing.”

“Yep you were.” She said moving towards the bathroom door. “But you won’t hear me doing that.”

“Why?”

Lucy walked into the bathroom preparing to close the door, “Cause I can’t carry a tune in a bushel basket.” She giggled. With that she closed the door.

Gerard stood in the hallway trying to get his emotions under control. Again guilt tore at his heart. He knew in Lucy’s mind she was going on a date with a man she trusted, a man she honestly knew little about.

He forced himself to walk back into his bedroom while his conscious continued to gnaw at him. Hell, she didn’t even know he was a singer.

“Gerard”

He rushed back to the bathroom door. “Yeah?”

“Just wondering what I should wear tonight.”

He leaned his forehead against the door, his mind picturing her in the shower that he heard running, his body responding to that thought.

“Gerard?”

“I’m still here.” He forced himself to answer. “Uh, maybe a dress like last time?”

Lucy giggled, “As you wish sir.”

He tried to stifle a moan.

“Sans the panties?” She giggled.

This time he couldn’t stop himself from moaning, “Yeah, Sugar. Definitely sans the panties.”

“Okay be down soon.” She called out.

Gerard grabbed an item from his room then headed downstairs to feed Rex. All the while his body was aching, his mind in turmoil. He had no idea that the world outside this one he and Lucy had built was moving closer with each passing day.
