What are you doing to me?

I woke up to the Sun shining in my eyes annoyingly. I could've sworn it was Saturday- but then I realized it was Friday
I instantly shot out of bed and checked my phone. It was 12 in the afternoon. 12 in the afternoon, what the fuck?!
I hadn't even heard my alarm go off this morning, I was freaking out. But where's Ray?
'Ray, where are you?! We need to get to school!' I ran around my room searching for him- he wasn't in here. I had searched my whole house, only to find he was nowhere to be found. This extremely unusual.
I glanced at his pillow and saw a note

" My love,
I imagine you slept until noon-ish, but not to panic, I called in for the both of us. We have a virus if anyone asks.
But, never mind that. Happy anniversary, mi amor. I have a few important things to request of you on this glorious day;
1. Pamper yourself for the rest of the afternoon. I have purchased a bath bomb for you.
2. Eat lightly, there will be food later this evening.
3. Wear the clothes your brother bought for you- shoes included- and be ready around 6pm sharp. A limo will be there to pick you up precisely then.

He took the time to put cologne on the paper and everything. He was beyond amazing- I love him with all of my heart.
My attention was turned to a bag beside the note, which consisted of various types of glorious smells. One in particular caught my attention, the " Sex Bomb" it smelled like flowers. The color of it was a pinkish color mixed with white- and there were flowers in it. I smiled gratefully and went to go and set the bath. Thinking about how sweet and caring my boyfriend is.

After that amazing bath and a relaxing face mask, I decided to eat a light snack. I decided on eating an apple with peanut butter and a few celery sticks. When I was finished- about 2 apples and half a hat of peanut butter later- I checked the time and saw that it was already 4:30.
That gave me half an hour to shower and a full hour to get ready. I set off on my task, determined to look my best- after all, it was my three year anniversary with the love of my life.

I barely finished with enough time to tie my shoes before the limo was honking outside. I ran downstairs as fast as I could.
When I got out into the front yard, I saw Ray holding my door open while waiting for me, seeking nervous. When he saw me his eyes bulged out of his skull and he was breathless.
The same went for me- he took all of the air out of my lungs as soon as I stepped out of the door. He was wearing all black and his hair was pulled back into a ponytail. His eyes were sparkiling in the street lights, his beard trimmed just the way I liked it.
' Happy anniversary, handsome. If you will allow me to take your coat, you may get into the back' He was acting so formal, almost like this was rehearsed over and over again.
I smiled ' Happy anniversary, all of this for us? I would've been happy with being at home on the couch eating tv dinners. This isn't necessary for us' I kissed his cheek and got into the back, waiting for him to follow me.
When he got in he took my hand and smiled at me adoringly, ' this isn't for us, it for you. Just to show my love and appreciation of you. I know lately I haven't been myself, and I apologize for that. But, tonight will make up for my behavior, hopefully. And besides, 3 years with you. That's something to celebrate. Well, actually, every day you let me continue this relationship is worth celebrating' his free hand reached up and touched my cheek, cradling it before leaning in and sealing our lips together.
It wasn't a deep kiss, but it was enough to set my heart on fire and awaken the sleeping ants in my stomach. What did I ever do to deserve this?

We were quiet for about 10 minutes before I got curious. ' Where are we going?' he looked at me and said 'its a surprise, darling. But don't worry, you'll love it. We're actually about 15 more minutes away from it' this whole time he was tracing a line over my ring finger absentmindedly. What is this boy doing? And where is he taking me?
I tried to think of somewhere that was 25 minutes away from our house, but came up with nothing. And then I remembered, a few years ago (back when Ray and I started dating) we walked past this really fancy restaurant with private sections for couples. I remember mentioning about how much I would enjoy going to eat there and his reply was "one day, I'll take you there. I promise it, Mikey"
A huge smile spread across my face before I turned and said ' we're going to that one restaurant, aren't we? The one I wanted to go to that one day?' he smiled softly before saying
' something like that'

When we arrived at our destination, he said that he needed to blindfold me to keep the surprise. ' I won't let you fall. Ever. I'll catch you before you even know you're falling, trust me, baby'
I nodded. I trusted him with my life, without a second thought I placed my hand in his and let him take me to our destination

After 5 minutes of walking up stairs in a stuffy hallway, I heard a door open and smelled fresh cut flowers. I heard a waterfall in the distance and faintly heard music being played somewhere near by. My blindfold was removed to reveal my surroundings.
My breathing hitched- I was in one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen in my life. We were outside in a butterfly garden, with a perfect view of the stars. There was rose petals in a trail leading to a table set for two. There were floating lanterns marking The walkway, a water fountain off the the left- and people playing harps to the right. Butterflies and fireflies where flying around every where.
I turned to face Ray, who was looking at me with so much love that my heart did a million back flips in a millisecond. He took my hand and led me to our table. Once we were both seated he said ' before this night goes any further, I want to ask you something' he reached into his pocket to reveal a small square box.
' is- is that what I think it is?' I was 90 percent sure it was a ring.
' hold on, I'm getting there. Michael James Way, you are the center of my universe. The sun, the source of light and meaning. My everything. I know we're still really going, so I got you this-' he opened the box to reveal the ring I saw 1st the jewellery store with Gee- the one I wanted so badly. 'it's a promise ring. I want you to promise me that in 2 years, we'll still be together.' I blinked rapidly to keep the tears out of my eyes. ' do you promise me?'
' I promise, forever and always' he said the ring on my right wedding finger and kissed me. Deeply and passionately.
I felt like I was on cloud nine and that nothing can be strong enough to ground me. I was so high on bliss that I couldn't say the words that were on my toungue. With very much effort I managed a few sentences before I sobbed:
' I love you so much, Ray. More than words can ever describe. More than anything in this entire world. You're The best thing that has happened to me. One day I'm going to marry you and we'll start a family. We'll get our happily ever after' by the time I was finished he had tears in his eyes and a large smile on his face.
Only then did I realize the true meaning of life- love. It sounds stupid and cliché but that's what I feel in this very moment. Everything was perfect. He was perfect. And I can't wait until I propse to him or until I get to call him my husband.
I looked at him lovingly one last time before he led me to a few blankets near the fountain and we gazed at the stars for the remainder of our date. The stars were pretty bright- but they didn't stand a chance to Ray's eyes. This beautiful music was nothing in comparison to his musical laughter. I just realized I was staring because he was suddenly nervous and asked ' What?'
' Oh, nothing, I was just thinking about how much I love you'.
' I love you more'
' but, I love you most. This is way more than I deserve. Thank you for doing all of this, my love' I kissed up from his hands to his lips.
This was a dream come true
