Dark Side of the Street

*Kelly's P.O.V*
I walked down the corridor of the hospital and saw Gerard sitting at the end of it. He was leaning back in the chair, lost in thought, his fists clenched. As I got nearer I noticed that there were tears in his eyes.
"Hi" I said, quietly.
He looked up at me, sat up on the seat, sniffed and wiped his eyes.
"Hi" he said.
"How's...How's Mikey?" I asked, sitting in the seat beside him.
He's still in surgery, he'll be in there for a while" he answered.
We sat in silence for a few minutes until Gerard broke it.
"Fifteen" he said through clenched teeth, staring at the blue wall, his fists clenched once more.
"Fifteen what?" I asked confused.
"Stab wounds" he replied.
I did not know how to reply, so I didn't. We spent a couple more minutes in silence before Gerard, again, broke the silence.
"Frank called the cops and the ambulance" he said, still staring at the wall, his fists still clenched. "He was the first one to the hospital and he hasn't left Mikey's bed side. I had to force him to go home and get some sleep when I got here.". He turned to look at me, his eyes were watering. "He is a better brother to Mikey than I have ever been, and they aren't even related".
"Gerard, you are a great brother-" I started, but I was cut off.
"I was the one who told Frank to leave Mikey to fend for himself. Frank saw Andy, the guy who attacked Mikey, go into the warehouse. Frank was the look out and the getaway driver. He rang me, like I told him to if something didn't go to plan, and told me". Tears were now streaming down his face. "And I...I told him to leave, to get out of there and let Mikey handle it. But he didn't. He rang the cops and ambulance and he waited until he heard the sirens and then he left". He wiped the tears away. "Tell me how great a brother I am now" he said through clenched teeth.
"You're here now and that's all that matters" I said.
"Yeah, whatever" he said , turning to face the wall again.

We sat in silence for nearly two hours, getting up the odd time to walk up and down the corridor to stretch our legs. Finally a nurse came up to talk with us. Me and Gerard stood up to talk to her.
"Are you Michael's brother?" she asked
"Yeah, I am" he replied. "Is everything okay?" he asked, I could hear the worry in his voice and see it on his face.
"He's fine, the operation was very tough, we nearly lost him twice, so he needs to rest up" she answered.
"Can I see him?" he asked, relief now flooding his voice and face.
"Not at the moment I'm afraid" she said just as her beeper beeped. She looked at it. "I'm sorry I have to get this" and with that she walked away.
"He's gonna be okay Gerard, did you hear that?" I said. I could hear the relief in my own voice, I was so happy Mikey was going to be okay.
Gerard just hugged me as a reply. When he let go he just looked at me, at my lips. Slowly he leaned in and kissed me. His lips were so soft and I just got lost in the kiss. Just as he went to deepen it, we were interrupted.
"I take it from that, that Mikey's okay?" said a voice. I turned around to see a guy with an afro and crutches standing near us.

Sorry it took so long to update and sorry that this is not much. I have been so busy.There are big things to come!
