Vampires Will Never Hurt You
Chapter 1
*Frank's POV*
My life has been a blur ever since I started to get bullied. In middle school people started to target me, but it was only once in a while; and it wouldn’t be really bad. I lived through it and when I got to high school it all changed.
The thought of high school was bad enough, but being a punk gay kid really didn’t help. I was often dragged behind the school and beaten, I would come home with bruises all over my body, and cuts on my face. I would smell of sweat because of my effort to get away. My mom always worked and my dad had left me when I was a little kid. So my mom never noticed, even in the weekends she would be out for meetings, or on business trips. I didn’t want to face my mom with this anyway; but once she noticed, we moved within a week. You see, my mom is very very protective of me, and really loves me. She is the only person who has ever loved me besides my past me.
The school I have moved to last, the one I will start after the weekend ends. It seems… different. It seems better somehow. I’m not quite sure how though. I decided to try not to look like a freak the first day of school, so started unpacking my bags and when I finished about halfway my mom called me down to have dinner. We had lasagna (which was really good, to be honest…) and after that I went out for a little to buy clothes that aren’t black so I won’t be seen as a freak and be bullied the first day like usual. In the dark I walked slowly to take in the darkness, the thing that hides me when I don’t want to be seen, but also my enemy when the demons in my dreams surprise me by coming out of the dark. I quickly found a small shop that had records, (I’ll have to go check that out later) and next to that was a small clothing shop.
I decided to buy a red shirt that showed my slight ab lines and pecs a little too much for my liking, but oh well. I thought my skinny black jeans would be fine with this, so I payed and walked home. It was surely midnight by now and the street lights were glowing dimly. I vaguely saw something moving with a speed that was faster than anything I had ever seen before, and no animal was this large and could move this quick. It kind of scared me, but I figured I had just been hallucinating and quickened my pace.
Getting home I put my clothes for the next day on my chair, and as soon as my head somewhat touched my pillow I was asleep, in a deep slumber; and somewhere, I wished I’d never wake up.
Sadly the next morning my alarm woke me, and I shut it off while rubbing the sleep out of my eyes. Moaning, I got up, got dressed, grabbed a bagel, and was on my way to my new school…
