It had already been 20 minutes and it was seriously fucking cold, considering I had just been in frigid shoulder-deep water and that my leg was probally shattered beyond repair. I felt kind of useless considering I was just laying there while Zee just walked around the tube and looked for anything useful,
"Hey dad" Zee whispered "I found some crutches"
She walked over and gave me her hand, I grabbed it and she pulled me up and handed me the crutches. She held me until I got used to them and then she smiled
"There, much better"
she shivered slightly and kept walking around, I checked the thermomter
"It's already 40 F" I reported
"That was quick" Zee replied
She was still looking around when she suddenly shrieked
"I found a wrench!"
Zee ran over and handed me the wrench
"You think you can make it quickly?" she asked happily
"Of course I can"
I sat down and started working with the pogo stick, Zee sat next to me and waited as I continued building. As I kept working, I felt extremley colder then I had a minute ago, Zee's teeth were chattering
"Oh my god" I said
"What?"
"Gerard's decreasing the temperature, he doesn't want us to leave!"
"Well then you need to go faster!"
I stopped talking and moved my nimble fingers over the pogo stick, the temperature kept decreasing by every minute. My feet were numb when I finally got done
"Finished!" I shouted
"T-T-That's-s-s Gr-Gr-Great" Zee stammered
She helped me up and I grabbed the crutches, I handed her the pogo stick
"What do I do?"
"Press that button and it will spring out reaching for any type of ledge" I explained
she nodded and pressed the button, the spring sprung and it grabbed onto the door at the top of the tube
"Now to get up, hang on to the bars and press this green button"
"Okay"
she grabbed the bars and pushed the button, soon she disappeared into the surronding darkness
"Here take this" she called
The pogo stick landed with a thud next to me, I picked it up and tucked it into my armpit
"Dad, try putting the crutches on the bars then hold onto the bars with them"
"That's a good idea"
I did that and soon was ready to go, I pushed the button and I went flying through blackness. I saw a flashlight glow above me and soon I was at the door as well as Zee, she pulled me up and brought the crutches up as well.
"Come on we still have to find Ray" she said
"Alright"
We walked out the door, we stopped after we went through
"You see that too righ?" she asked
"If you mean the Exit sign then yes I do"
in front of us were two doors, and one had the sign blaring
"EXIT"
