Numb. I feel numb.
I feel nothing, yet every sound gives me goose bumps all over and it feels like something heavy is being pushed on my chest repeatedly; keeping me from breathing.
Trying to make my eyes adjust to the darkness was impossible. There is not a sliver of light anywhere, and when I try to turn round, I can’t. I’m tied down.
I close my eyes and breathe out slowly. A loud thud echoes from what seems to be quite far away, I’m scared. I’m downright scared to death. Laying on the rough floor trying to control my racing heart isn’t the problem anymore.
But the fact that I’m tied down, can’t see anything, and there is somebody. Too close. Hoping to hear something I take a deep breath, and hold it.
Shockingly, after a few seconds I hear shuffling of feet, slowly, steady, and definitely coming towards me. Desperately I lay completely silent with my heart pounding in my throat I hope whomever it is, doesn’t realize I’m still there.
Of course he does, and I try moving my hands for self-defense I may need later, but all I feel is the thick rope cutting into my wrists, and desperation to be let go. The shuffling has now turned into a confidently paced walk. What do I do? What’s going to happen? Who would do this, and why me? Why keep me in such suspense? So many questions flooded into my mind, the thoughts scaring me even more. The walking stopped, but I sensed the person was awfully close to me.
I felt the body's heat radiation touching me, yet my skin remained untouched. The person was so close, probably examining me, deciding what to do to me. And I wouldn’t be able to anything…
