Three Cheers for Red Hair and Love
You Know What They Do to Guys Like Us
Ryan woke the next morning aching all over and in intense pain where Gerard had entered him. Struggling to pull himself out of bed, his counselor approached.
“Are feeling ok?” he inquired. “Do you want to visit the infirmary?”
“No, it’s all right. But thank you!” No one would understand what i did. They couldn’t. Only he would.
“Alright! If you need anything just tell me, ok?”
“Ok.” But his heart was still focused on the magic Gerard and he had created.
But hearts change. Situations change. And people are forced to move on. The last day of camp arrived. Gerard ran to Ryan, hugging him with tears running down his cheeks. But Ryan pushed him away.
“I love you, Gerard! But I can’t. They won’t understand. They’ll kill me! I can’t, I can’t, I can’t. I love you.” Rivers gushed from Ryan’s golden brown eyes down his beautiful face. The thin lips Gerard had made love to quivered with fear and pain. Ryan leaned in for one kiss. And then he ran.
His thin legs took off, his hands covering his face and attempting to dam the rivers. He ran towards the lake, and Gerard couldn’t stop him. His face pressed against the glass window of the bus helplessly. His last sight was of Ryan disappearing into the spot that was theirs. The spot where no one could find him.
