Three Cheers for Red Hair and Love
Ambulance
But it hurt. The next morning Gerard woke up in his small bed and white covers feeling off. Light-headed and dizzy. He sat up and saw why.
A small puddle of blood had formed near his ass. Frank. Yesterday. He hadn’t stopped bleeding.
“Frank it’s me.” After three rings, Frank picked up the phone. “Frankie, you’ve got to come over. Now.”
“There’s school today… Can’t we talk later, Gee?”
“No, Frankie. Trust me. Just come over now. Please.”
The Ford pulled into his driveway ten minutes later. Gerard jumped in straight away and they headed off.
“Turn right on Quarry.”
“But Gee, that’s where the hospital is.”
“I know.” A wave of realization swept over Frank. Yesterday. Gerard was crying and bleeding. He hadn’t stopped. This is my fault.
