Gerard's P.O.V Serenity changed back to her real form. The other women followed suit. They led us to Mirrors room where Grandma Elena stood waiting. Serenity turned to me before she left the room. "You must stay here with your parents and friends." She said as she hugged me. "If the high witch sees a human, she will kill them." I shook my head. "No." I said, grabbing her hand. "She'll kill you. I don't want to lose you." She smiled. "It's okay. I'll be okay." Jamia stepped forward. "Serenity is the most powerful being in our world." She pointed out. "Only equal to the high witch herself. But Ren is smarter than her. So she'll be okay." Frank stepped forward. "What about you? Will you be okay?" Serenity looked at Frank. "Mia will be under my protection. As will everyone." She said. "I will always protect every being. It's my job." "Actually." Kristin added. "It's our job to protect you. As our queen." Serenity sighed as she looked at Kristin. "I took a oath to protect my people." She pointed out. "And I intend doing just that." She backed up and smiled. "And my first move is the protection spell." She raised her arms and looked above us. "Guardians of this world I pray, Protection be with us all this day. Please bring us some good news, And give us protection that we do not lose, And let no harm fall upon anyone." A flash lit up the room. Then Serenity lowered her arms. She didn't speak or move. "From here onwards, you will not be able to leave this room." Mirror informed us. "There is now a protective barrier between yourselves and Serenity and her friends." Serenity looked at me with a apologetic smile. "I'm sorry." She said. "Mirror will show you the battle. To ease your mind. If need be. But I assure you, we will be okay." I tried to stop her as she turned away and headed for the door. But I ran straight into the invisible barrier. Serenity's P.O.V I led the girls to the great hall. They followed me to my throne, standing either side of me as I turned to address my people. I didn't sit down. "Welcome, my friends." I started as everyone went quiet and turned to face us. "The high witch approaches and we must be prepared. As you know, I made a oath to protect you all. But the witches powers are equal, in strength, to my own. So I would have to concentrate all my strength to her alone. This will result in the loss of many of you. I cannot allow that to happen." "But how can you stop it, your majesty?" Carlton the minotaur asked. "There isn't a way to protect us too." Jiggy the orc pointed out. "The queen must be protected at any cost." Harlow the Cyclops added. Everyone agreed with Harlow. I raised my hand and everyone went quiet again. "There is but one way to keep you all safe." "NO." Everyone said in unison. "You could die." Christa cried out. I raised my hand again to silence everyone. "Stop, please." I said. Everyone went quiet but looked worried. "In order to protect you, I must do this." I pointed out. "If I survive, so will you." I paused. "If I die or don't take the chance.......it's not only our world that will die. All worlds will. The high witch will kill all humans, destroy all life. She will not stop until all life signs is wiped out. The humans know nothing of our world. They are not part of this fight. They do not deserve to suffer for something they know nothing about. I will not allow them to suffer at the hands of my sister. I will not allow her to destroy all of creation. I will take all necessary steps to prevent this happening. But there's something you need to know first." "What is it?" Caitlyn asked, tearfully. "There is a connection deeper than blood between myself and my sister." I said. Jamia frowned. "Like what?" "The high witch, Lissa can only be killed by my hand." I said. "If she is killed by anyone else......I die too. The connection cannot be changed or broken." "But what if you died when you took the chance?" Jamia asked. "Then because I took the chance, Lissa dies too." Gerard's P.O.V I watched Serenity in Mirror. The high witch is her sister? "What is this 'risk' Serenity is going to take?" I asked, not taking my eyes off of her as she talked to the people. "It's a vial of essence." Mirror explained. "No one knows for sure if it will enhance her powers or kill her. It is said that the essence was the essence of the very first being. What you would call 'God' in your world. The essence is so fragile and powerful that only one being will be chosen to possess it. Just one sip has killed so many beings before. They didn't just die. They vanquished. Disappeared in a blaze of light. No one knows who or what the chosen one is. But whoever or whatever they are, they will be the most powerful being in all creation." I sat on the floor and stared at the image of Serenity in Mirror. "Serenity might die." I muttered, sadly. "What are her chances?" I had to know. "Nine hundred and ninety nine point nine billion to one." Mirror informed me. I run my fingers through my hair. "Oh god." I watched as a vial of bright gold essence was handed to Serenity. She looked at the essence, then drank it down. At first there was nothing. Then she collapsed to the ground and a bright light surrounded her. "SERENITY." I screamed.
