Cemetery Drive

"You sure do have a cute kid." Gerard said as he looked at the pictures of my baby.

"Thank you." I said and rested my hand over my stomach, I started to think about what will happen when the baby gets here, all of the time I'm going to spend with him or her, how spoiled they're going to be, how much they're going to be loved by their parents.... Correction, parent. The more I started to think that this baby will only have one loving parent the more tears it brought to my eyes. Every baby deserves two parents that love the crap out of it but my baby will only have one.

"Hey hey hey, why are you crying?" Gerard asked as he set the photos down and came over to me.

"My b-baby is going to grow up without a dad." I said as more tears started to fall.

"You know that's not true Frank, the baby has you." He said and started to stroke my face.

"Is that enough? Am I enough?" I wondered and started to cry harder.

"Of course you are." Gerard said as he climbed on the bed with me and pulled me into his side, without hesitation I clung to him and his arms came down and rubbed my back.

"You're going to be a great parent, and don't you ever think you're going to do it alone. You're baby will have two loving grandparents, two awesome uncles, and one badass father." He said as he continued to run my back.

"Thanks Gee." I said and snuggled further into him.

"C-can I kiss you?" He asked.


I pulled away from him just enough to look up at his face, and then bit my lip.

"Okay." I whispered in a barely audible voice.

He smiled down and me and gently rested his hand on my cheek and ever so slightly tilted my face towards him and then leaned down with both eyes closed. As he got closer I closed my own eyes and I felt his soft lips being softly placed on my own pair. At first he didn't move and neither did I, but a few seconds later he began to move his lips against mine and I apprehensively did the same back. We kept at this for at least another minute until I gently pulled away from him with a smile growing on my face. When I opened my eyes I saw a smile growing on his face as well.

"I'm sorry." He said after we were back in our original positions, me leaning into his side and him holding me.

"For what?" I asked scrunching up my eyebrows.

"I'm going about this in all the wrong ways. I'm supposed to get to know you first, ask you out on a date, make you feel like a princess, then kiss you." He said and kissed my forehead.

"Well to make you feel better, we did get to know each other a while ago; we just sort of had a fall out. Also I don't think your plans involved me being pregnant by another person."

"That is true, but I wouldn't have it any other way." He said then pecked my lips, I can tell he wanted to put his hand on my bump but I'm not so sure I want him to. I just don't want him to get attached to the baby and then it turns out he's not my mate.

"Gee, what if you're not my mate? What happens then?" I asked apprehensively.

"We don't think about that." He said simply.

"Please Gee."

"Okay, well if it happens to be we are not mates, we become each other's best friend like what happened when we were little and then I become the secretly jealous friend when you find your mate. Also, your baby will be a very important vampire in my life; I will always be its uncle; even though I really want to be its other father."

"Step-father." I corrected.

"What?"

"Step-father, this baby already had a father, I'm not going to lie to it, and this baby deserves the truth, even if it’s not the best one. I want it to know what he or she comes from and be better than that, prove to the world that where you come from doesn’t define you.” I explained.

“That’s really smart, and I support you one hundred percent.” Gerard said and leaned down and kissed my forehead.
