Cemetery Drive

"Who wants to meet their new baby?" A nurse asked as she walked in, she came over to my and leaned over and handed my little girl, unlike the last time I saw her she was awake now and looking at me with her big bright blue eyes. She looked up at me with the curious look and then within moments, a smiled took over her little face, and she let out a giggle.

"Hello there my little girl. I'm your dad, well one of them." I said to her as I stretched my hand out toward her little fist, with her tiny hands to grasp onto my finger.

"She's so tiny." I said to Gerard without looking away from my baby.

"I know." He said as he ran his hand over her little head. "But she's nothing shy of perfect." Then he leaned down to her face and kissed her on her forehead.

"Sorry to interrupt but it's time that we got her name for her birth certificate." A nurse as she knocked on the door to my room.

"Yeah no problem." I said as I looked away from my daughter for the first time since I've met her. "Her name is Eliza Quinn Way." I told her.

"That's beautiful." She said as she wrote it down. "Now I have one more thing to discuss, when we pulled up your file on the computer there was a note from the court saying we need to alert the birth father of the birth, and he has the following day with the child. Is this correct?"

"Yes it is." Gerard told her, "So tomorrow he's going to be here. But before that can you make sure a toxin report is ran? Apart of the agreement is that he's sober whenever he sees her." He clarified.

"Of course, don't either of you worry I'll handle everything. Just enjoy your time with the baby." She said and smiled at the three of us before leaving. Wow, three of us. I'm gonna have to get used to that it’s not just Gerard and I anymore.

"I love her so much." I said as I ran my finger down her cheek.

"I know what you mean." He said. "You know there are a lot of people in the waiting room. Even though I want her and you to myself I think we should let them see out little angel."

"You're right. Go bring them in." I told him.

He nodded at me and leaned down to kiss Eliza's head before leaving the room. Wait. He said a lot of people. Besides his and my parents who would be here? Mikey and maybe Pete, Andy said he would come so maybe him as well. Eliza started to coo at me so I looked down at her and started to kiss her face to get her to start laughing again.

"Oh wow, she's so beautiful." A voice said that I hadn't heard in a while.

"Lexi?" I asked looking up and seeing my old and well, first friends I really made since I was pregnant.

"Hey Frankie, it's been a while."

"I'll say,"

"She's so cute;" she said as she sat on the edge of my bed and looked at her, I sat up a bit straighter in order to show her off.

"She is." Andy said as he walked in, I smiled at him and he leaned in and gave me a side hug.

"Thanks for coming back."

"I said I would."

"Again, thanks for bringing him here and taking care of him while I couldn't." Gerard said to Andy.

"No problem."

"Let me see my grandbaby!" My mother practically yelled as she came in, Eliza sure did hear here because she flinched at my mother voice.

I leaned over, with pain from my C-section, and handed her to my mother who cradled her and baby talked her then passed her along to my father then to Gerard's parents. Gerard came next to me and held me tightly in his arms and thanked me about a thousand times for giving him such a wonderful little girl. When she had been passed onto Mikey she let out a cry and both Gerard's and my heads snapped in her direction.

"I didn't do anything I swear!" He exclaimed as Gerard took her from his arms then passed her along to me.

"It's okay baby girl." I said as I rocked her in my arms, "what's wrong?"

"It sounds like someone is hungry." A nurse said as she walked in with a bottle. I thanked her and took the bottle from her and began to feed her; as soon as the bottle touched her lips she started sucking.

"Whoa my baby was hungry." When she finished her bottle I handed her over to Gerard who burped her for me.

Today I decided to focus on my family instead of dreading tomorrow.
