Cemetery Drive

"I don't wanna wear this." I complained as I tugged on my collar.

"It's only for a few hours at the most." Gerard assured me as we pulled into the court. "I want this to be over with." He said as he got out of the car and came around to my side and opened the door.

Once I got out I saw cop cars so I knew josh was already there, great. I sighed and Gerard looked over to where I was looking, his face scowled but he placed his hand on the small of my back and led me inside. When we were inside a lady too us to a room and told us to go in whenever we were ready. I took a few deep breaths before I went to open the door, but when I reached for it Gerard stopped me and turned me to face him, I gave him a questioning look but his lips found mine before I could ask anything and he gave me a loving kiss. When we broke apart he smiled at me before opening the door for me. Like u had expected, Josh was sitting there in his orange jumpsuit handcuffed to the table with two security guards behind him. The judge was at the end on the table and there were two vacant seats in front of Josh, Gerard and I sat in those two seats, I texted my hands on the table and Gerard's hand found mine and held it tightly. I wasn't looking directly at Josh but I could tell he was looking at me.

"Mr. Way, Mr. Iero I apologize for the wait it took to set this up, I was waiting for another case I was working on to close. Alright, Mr. Iero have you decided on the paternity of your child?"

"Yes your honor, we've come to the decision that-"

"Wait!" Josh exclaimed, making all heads but mine turn to him. "I wanna say something."

"The floor is yours." The judge offered, I still wouldn't look at him.

"Come on bunny, look at me." He said directly speaking to me.

Bunny. That hit a nerve. On our first date, he took me on a picnic in the park, I said a joke and he rolled his eyes and took a drink of his soda; u scrunched up my face kinda like a bunny and he started laughing so hard he almost choked on his drink. After that we both started laughing and then a white bunny came hopping along and landed right on my lap. From then on I was known as bunny to him.

Slowly I lifted my eyes from my lap until they met with his.

"What I did was unforgivable and I'm so sorry. But that's still my baby in there are I want to be in their life. I want it to know I love it. And I love you, I never stopped and I'll never stop loving out child. I know I was horrible but you've always been able to see the good in me when no one else could. Don't lose sight of who I am, I love you and the baby."

"You love the baby?" Gerard said speaking up. "Then how come I had to literally rip you away from him as you tried to beat the child to death before it even had a chance of living!" He yelled at Josh, "so go on and please explain to me how you love that child? Or the first child you and Frank conceived?"

"Mr. Iero you were already pregnant with a child from Mr. Patterson before this one?" The judge asked.

"Yes." I whispered.

"Will you please explain to me what happened?" He asked carefully.

"I was fifteen at the time and when I found out I was scared and also excited so I went over to Josh's house and I told him." I like formed in my throat and I just wanted to crawl inside myself and escape. Gerard leaned over and kissed the side of me head and gave me an encouraging smile; I took a deep breath and swallowed the lump in my throat and continued. "He uh, he wasn't too happy. He started yelling at me telling me that he had his whole life ahead of him and a baby would just ruin our plans, and when I told him we could fit the baby into our plans and how I wanted it, he slapped me. It didn't just end there, he started to get angrier and the slaps became punches before he started to beat my stomach until I was bleeding. Then after about twenty minutes or so of me bleeding on his floor he took me to the hospital and told the doctor I fell down my stairs at my house and when he came over to hang out with me he found me at the bottom of the stairs and that I was pregnant, the doctor told us we lost the baby." I explained. Gerard's hand came up and wiped away the tears that I didn't even know we're falling.

"I'm very sorry to hear that." The judge said, "Have you come to a final decision?"

"Yes we have," I said and grabbed Gerard's hand. "I want the adoption to continue. But since the timing with the expired blood I know the bad person who was Josh isn't really him, so we've agreed to four supervised visits a year, with either both of us or just one of us present at all times."

"And these dates for the visits?" The judge asked writing something down on a paper.

"The day after its birthday, Christmas Eve, and the next two Josh can choose but they have to be annually, and not over my or his birthday or any major holiday." I told them.

The judge nodded and turned to Josh.

"Um, when is the due date?"

I turned to Gerard and he nodded his head.

"June fifth."

"Okay, well I wanna see it sometime in August and February."

"Specific dates Mr. Patterson." The judge inquired.

"Okay, February nineteenth and August sixth." Josh said.

"Any specific reasons for these dates?" Gerard asked.

"First numbers that popped in my head." He answered.

"Alright, if you three will sign here I can get these papers processed and see if I can speed along the adoption process." The judge said and slid a very formal looking document to me, I signed it, then Gerard signed it, and finally Josh signed it.

Gerard and I thanked the judge and we were about to leave when Josh called me to stop, I looked back to him.

"Um, what's her name?" He asked.

"What makes you think it's a girl?" Gerard wondered.

"Fathers instinct." Josh answered, it sounded more like a question then a answer.

"Eliza. Her name is Eliza." I told him before walking out; I didn't stick around long enough to see his reaction.
