Just a Shadow In The Night (Mikey Way/OC)

It was late, the sun had set and the stars were visible due to lack of street lights. We were all tired after being on the road all day. Mikey was driving now, and he made a sharp turn into what looked to be a motel parking lot. It looked pretty good, for a motel.

“Home sweet home for the night.” He sighed, opening his door, we all did the same.

I stood beside the trailer, rubbing my eyes. Gerard let out a yawn from beside me, and we exchanged tired smiles.

Mikey showed up next to us and handed me my overnight bag. Ray handed Gerard a bag and shut the trailer. After locking the trailer and the car, we made it the reception desk.

“We’re short on money so we’re all gonna share a room. Everyone good with it?” Gerard asked, getting money ready.

We all nodded in agreement, not really caring, just wanting to get to bed.

“We have a room with two beds available…” The receptionist said in an emotionless voice

“Sure yeah we’ll take that one.” Gerard answered quickly handing her the money

“Here’s your key, room 12. Enjoy your stay” She said in a monotone voice.

We all mumbled a ‘thanks’ to her and more or less staggered to our room. While the guys were getting set up, I grabbed my toothbrush, toothpaste and pyjamas and headed to the bathroom. The place wasn’t the best but we have a stove, coffee, a decent looking shower and all we could need for our stay.

I walked out of the bathroom and put my tooth brush back and sat on the nearest bed. Mikey sat down next to me quickly.

I crawled under the covers and looked at the alarm clock on the night stand next to us. It was almost midnight, and my eyes were getting heavier by the second.

“What’s the plan for tomorrow?” Frank asked from his and Gerard’s bed.

“We keep moving, we need to be out of here by eight.” Mikey answered, seeing as he was the only one with a plan.

There were a few groans in response, me making one of them.

“Well, goodnight I guess.” I said, getting comfortable. Mikey crawled into the covers next to me, and got closer.

I heard a small yawn and a quiet goodnight from Ray on the floor. Everyone else said goodnight, when Gerard turned off the light.

My life was kind of boring before, but after this- I know I’ll never be bored as long as I’m with these guys.
