I'm okay... conditionally

4-Lisa Frank

So, Frank's my roommate now, or maybe, I don't know. What I do know is that I refuse to let him go home to that bastard. I have a right mind to fucking end him.

"Gerard. Come here." He called out to me. He's in the kitchen, I think. I got up from the bed. On my way down the stairs I stretched and yawned.

"Hey, good morning." He said. I noticed above all else that he was wearing one of my shirts and some knee-highs.

"I agree." I said, looking him up and down. He giggled a bit and got out of his seat to approach me. We hugged and of course, he got me to make him cereal.

"Your calendar says 'X Party'. I'm very curious as to what that means." He said, with a raised eyebrow and a smirk.
Oh yeah, that is today isn't it?

"It's actually not what you think. My ex wants me to help with his nieces 2nd birthday party. There's gonna be hella 2 year olds there and he said he needs help so..." I faded out, consumed in my thoughts of catering to the whims of 2 year olds.

"You're still friends with your ex?" He replied, frowning. I could tell by his expression what I should say.

"No, no, I just...he needed help so, I don't know. I couldn't really say no." I have a problem with that. I mentally prepared myself for the "grow some balls" speech. I received no such thing. Since Frank's been living with me, he's been shattering all my expectations one at a time. I never know what to expect, he excites me.

His frown went away. He smiled ever-so-softly. He touched my cheek with his smooth finger tips and suddenly, I didn't feel like going to the "X Party", but like the push-over I am, I did. Frank came too.

An over-inflated balloon was held up to me by a cute little girl, so naturally I took it and make it seem like the best gift ever.

"Hi!" She said.
"Hi!" I said back.
"What's your name?"
"Frank. What's your name?"
"Lisa."
"Hey, Lisa."
"Hi, Frank."

Lisa was here with her mom, who was sitting in the corner watching us interact. Her eye held a friendly, interested gaze. Her body language, though, showed that she was really to black both my eyes if I tried something with her daughter. I wasn't offended at all, I understood her worries.
I sat for three hours with Lisa and her mom,Tiffany, watching Gerard's ass as he worked. He lead the toddlers in singing Happy Birthday, cut and served the cake, handed out party favors, and generally kept the little ones out of harm's way.

I learned from Lisa the color of every single balloon in the room. I also found out that she was the birthday girl, and that she loves pink, and that her mommy and her shared a birthday. To put it in simple terms, Lisa made me want a kid.

"Hey Lisa! Hi Tiff. Hi Frank." Said Gerard. He sat down next to us.
"Hey, Gerard, how are things? I miss you." Tiffany responded. They caught up while Lisa and I played Patty-Cake.
"I still can't believe Andy didn't come." Said a disappointed Tiff.
"I know. Did he call?"
"Yeah, I kinda wish he didn't. He was high off his A-S-S."
"Oh, he-really?" Gerard looked as if he'd been kicked. His cheeks flushed red and the conversation was over. I asked him about it on the way home.
