Yellow Submarine Café

Yellow Submarine Café
It was the spring holidays, but I had to be back next week. I was extremely bored at home. Mikey had a good group of friends to hang out with, so he was out with them. My parents were at work, so they would be home at 6. I was home alone, I had been watching old horror movies all day. It was noon so I decided I would grab something to eat.
After finishing my sandwich, I had nothing to do. I was one of those kids who did their homework, on the day it was set. So homework was out of the question. I was getting bored of movies and my head was hurting. I didn’t have any inspiration or ideas to draw or paint. I decided I would just go out for the walk. Pulling on my shoes and jacket I, headed out.
I didn’t know where I was going so, I decided I would wander around. The real reason I wanted to go out, was to clear my unaccustomed thoughts. Since the day I met Frank and Pete, I couldn’t stop thinking about the way Franks beautiful eyes locked my gaze. The intensity of the stare. I had this strange desperation to see him again. What was weird about this was that, I had experienced similar emotions to when I used to have crushes…on girls. But less intense and needy with the girls.
It was starting to get windy, and I felt a few raindrops drop on my head. Well that’s great, my jacket didn’t even have a hood on. I rushed down a street as the rain started to pour down. I saw a café open so I decided to go in there. It looked warm and inviting, I had never been or even heard of this place before, and I’ve been to A LOT of cafés before (to obviously satisfy my needs of coffee, without my parents nagging me, of course.).
The café had a friendly vibe to it, and it wasn’t crowded. The cafes name was ‘yellow submarine café’, which was a Beatles song. The warm orange walls were covered with music memorabilia. Vinyl’s hung as paintings and the furniture was a different range of colours. It wasn’t over the top. It was just right.
I made my way to the counter to order a well needed coffee. There were two servers standing behind the counter. One, who was serving the man before me, was a tall, thin women. She fashioned a tartan skirt and white shirt, under her apron and had her hair up in two bunches-something a 7 year old girl would have her hair like, but she suited this style. Her arms were painted with tattoos of all sorts. I usually didn’t like women with tattoos, but she wore them like they were made for her. I read her name tag-“Lyn-z”. In my eyes she looked like the perfect woman for me. I noticed there was a short man behind her making a drink.
After the customer before me left, the shop phone started to ring. “Dang it” I thought to myself as she left, I really was hopping I could talk to her, and hopefully for something to happen between us too.
“Frank, serve the next customer please!” her chirpy voice spoke, as she rushed for the phone.
The small man turned towards to me, both of us jumped from surprise recognition. It was Frank Iero. The man who was the cause to my weird thoughts.
