Enchanted

Broken Wounds

Kobra Kid’s POV
I watched as my brother steadily – but quickly, of course – steered Ghoul into the Diner, and then follow me, Jet and Pony into Dr. D’s radio room. As soon as we entered the room Pony jumped up onto the desk beside Dr. D’s radio and transmitter, and Jet leant against the wall that firmly stood beside the door frame.
“Hey Dr. D.” I greeted, and he turned his own wheelchair to face me and Jet smiling, and then turned fully to Party and Ghoul.
“Take him into the medical room,” Dr. D instructed Party, “I’ll be with you in just a second.” And with that Party nodded and left the room, pushing Ghoul in front of him until he turned around a corner and towards the medical room. “As for you, Killjoys,” He started, wheeling himself over to the door before turning to face all three of us, “I want you to keep an eye out for any Dracs. We can’t afford them breaking in when one of you is already down and out, and I think we all know that Party won’t leave Ghoul’s side until he knows that he’ll be okay.” He explained, and Jet and I nodded.
“So...” Pony started, “You’re saying that Party won’t leave that room until Ghoul is actually awake and living?” He asked, and Dr. D nodded.
“That’s right.” He stated. “You see; Ghoul is pretty much Party’s second brother, as they grew up very close to each other. Ghoul is just like Kid to Party; a brother that always has his back. And I’m pretty sure Party wants to do that for him now.”
“It’s true,” I smiled to myself a little; “Normally he would spend more time with Ghoul after he knew what had happened with him and his parents. Although; we’ve never got round to telling Ghoul the full truth about his past, right D?” I confirmed, and he nodded.
“I guess that’ll be one of the first things that he’ll have to know when he’s back to his normal self again.” He pointed out, and I nodded along with Jet, as Pony sat on the desk with a confused look written all over his face.
“I’ll explain later, Pony.” I smiled, and he smiled back as a ‘thank you’.

Party Poison’s POV
As I pushed Ghoul into the relatively large white room, I realised that I had a few minutes at the most to think and clear my head; so after I carefully led him down on the bed I sat in the old wooden chair beside him and held my head in my hands.

It felt like forever until Dr. D wheeled himself into the room, and I almost jumped a mile when he touched my shoulder with his hesitant hand.
“Party?” He asked quietly, and I lifted my head to look at his concerned face. “Sorry I took so long.” He apologised, “Now where was he hit?”
“Just here...” I quietly replied, gently touching the middle section of his chest; just below the heart.
“I see... And he’s breathing?” He asked, and I nodded before lowering my head a little to look down at the floor. I then felt his hand on my shoulder again, but this time I didn’t bother to look up. What was wrong with me?

“Party,” He started; his voice was calm and reassuring, although his face told me that he was deeply concerned – About me or Ghoul, I couldn’t tell. “Gerard, look at me.” He said again, and I lifted my head a little; surprised that he used my real name. “Now, either you go and clear your head, or you can stay here and mope around looking more depressed than you need to be.”He said, but I knew I really didn’t have a choice so I stood up and blankly walked away from the medical room to find the others.

Dr. D’s POV
I watched him as he left and walked outside, and when the door of the Diner slammed shut I knew he wasn’t going to be himself until Ghoul was back by his side.
It upset me though, knowing that Ghoul looked up to Party a little stronger than like a brother, whilst Party would have no clue about what he really felt. I remember when Ghoul had first come to me for help about two years ago, and he was scared, because he knew that Party would never feel the same way about him, and he knew that he would never stop thinking about him in that way.

But he did.

You could tell that Party loved Ghoul every time they got close each other. And after years and years of knowing and growing up with them all, you really do get to know them well; inside and out.

I shook my head after about 5 minutes of watching the closed Diner door, and then shut the medical room’s door before taking a closer look at Ghoul. I just hope that he’ll be okay – for Party’s sake of keeping himself sane and happy.

Party Poison’s POV
I slowly walked outside of the Diner at first, but once I was outside I quickly lost both my patience and my temper, and I turned to slam the door shut; listening to the glass and wooden frame shake as the impact took its toll.

“Bro?” Kid’s voice pierced my ears as I clenched my fists, and I flinched.
“What?” I almost hissed back, but I managed to calm myself down a little before I replied, turning around to look at his sad face. I then loosened up when he just stood there with a scared and worried expression, and when I went to gently pull him into my arms I felt tears appear in my now glassy eyes. “I’m sorry.” I then whispered, and I felt him wrap his arms around my back as he nodded.
“It’s alright; it’s not your fault.” He replied in a whisper, and I nodded slightly.
“I’m just worried, Mikes...” I admitted, and he tensed up a little as I used his real name. We hardly ever used them, and when we did it would always leave us in a depressed state as we remember our parents and how they died when we were little. I soon snapped out of my trance for what seemed like hours, and continued thinking aloud. “...If I was faster than I had been I could have shot that Drac down before he shot Ghoul... It’s all my fault!” I accidently shouted, flailing my arms around a little as small tear drops fell from my eyes. I felt his arms grip more around my body as I ran my hands through my dry red hair, and I sighed as I slowly managed to calm down; although I couldn’t stop the cool tears that trickled down my frustrated face. I then felt my own shirt become a little damp, and Kid was shaking a little as he started to sob. I slowly began to rub one of my hands against his back in small circles to try and calm him down, and I apologised frequently as I rested my forehead softly on his trembling shoulder.
