No Coffee For Gee ~ Discontinued!

Gee and Frankie's 4 block walk to school would've been filled with jokes and laughter, had they NOT bumped into Mikey, and his best friend Bob.
It was always a possibility of course, cos the two younger boys were headed for the middle school, and that was right next door to their new high school, but they'd kinda hoped...
As Gee saw his nasty little brother step out from his hiding place beside the boarded up fire house, (Yes!.. He and Bob were waiting for them), what little colour he had in his cheeks, instantly drained away.
Frankie spotted the little menace a second later, as he felt Gee falter in his steps and fall behind.
Frankie frowned, and stepped protectively in front of his best friend "Fuck off Mikey" He grunted, feeling Gee grasping shakily to the back of his hoodie.
Mikey laughed, that evil glint, ever-present in his eye "What Frankie?.. You protecting your pathetic little boyfriend?" He spat back.
Frankie REALLY wanted to hit that kid, but he knew (from experience) that if he started on Mikey, then BOB would just go straight for Gee.. and he STILL remembered the last time that happened, and poor little Gee spent the next hour in tears in the nurse's office.. A bad day!
Taking a deep breath, as his fists clenched at his sides, Frankie decided to try reasoning with the little punk "Mikey.. If you don't get lost, I'm going to bury your head in that God-damn wall.." Ok, so it wasn't EXACTLY reasoning ".. I MEAN it Mikey.. Fuck off"
He could hear Gee's hitched breath behind him, and hoped there were no tears to accompany it.
Frankie would do whatever it took to protect Gee. He loved him.. Always had.
The problem was, that Mikey knew this, and was quite happy to use that fact against him.
Mikey always called Gee nasty names, and ALWAYS said things about him being Frankie's boyfriend.
Gee was NOT Frankie's boyfriend! (more's the pity).. though Frankie would like nothing more than to call that beautiful, sweet, gentle boy- HIS!.. But Gee was straight (as far as Frankie was aware) and his best friend too, and he didn't want to ruin their friendship by making an ill-judged move, so he always held his tongue.
Mikey and Bob were moving closer, and Frankie KNEW that this wasn't going to end well.
Reaching his left hand blindly behind him, Frankie grasped Gee's cold fingers in his.
He could feel Gee's tremor run from his hand, and right up his arm.
Gee was scared.. and Frankie had an overwhelming desire to turn around and hug him tight.. He didn't!.. Instead, he gave a quick squeeze to Gee's hand, then punched out at Bob's face as hard as he could, taking both of the younger boys by surprise, and shouted "RUN", before dragging Gee into a sprint towards the gates of the high school, just over a block and a half away.
They could hear Mikey and Bob's angry shouts and hurried footsteps as they chased after them, but they daren't look back, and the gates were now in sight.
The small element of surprise that the punch to Bob's nose had awarded them, had given them just enough of a head start to make it to the relative safety of the schoolyard. They both hoped that Mikey wouldn't have the guts to follow them inside.
As Frankie charged through the gates, still holding Gee's hand tight in his, he didn't slow down till he reached the front doors of the building, and realised that their pursuers had already given up.
Breathing heavily after their run, the two boys leaned against the wall to the left of the door, still holding hands, as they waited for their heart rates to return to normal.
After a few minutes, Frankie turned to look at Gee "You ok?.." He murmured, seeing tears running down Gee's now flushed cheeks.
Gee dropped his head, hiding in his hair "K" He whispered.
Frankie frowned. Mikey ALWAYS had this effect on Gee ".. He's gone now.." He tucked Gee's hair behind his ear for him. He wouldn't let him hide ".. I'll never let them hurt you, I promise"
Gee looked up, a small, but bright smile lighting up his face "You'll protect me?.." He said softly ".. You promise?"
Frankie grinned "Until the end of everything, Gee.. ALWAYS"
This, obviously, would be the PERFECT time for Frankie to confess his love for the other boy, as they sat there, hand in hand, shoulder to shoulder, smiling lovingly at one another.. He didn't.. He choked.
As it happened, Gee was sat thinking just how much he loved little Frankie. His strong, funny, brave best friend.
He would give ANYTHING to be with that boy.. But Frankie was straight, and even if he wasn't, he wouldn't EVER go for Gee.. It just wasn't a possibility.. Frankie was this gorgeous, sweet, AMAZING little ball of energy.. And Gee?.. A stupid, ugly little queer, who couldn't even stand up to his nasty little brother.. He had NO chance.
Gee choked, his heart cracking a little at the thought that they would only EVER be friends.. And THAT would only be until Frankie found other friends in this new school, at which point, Gee FULLY expected to just be left behind.. even if Frankie HAD said "Always!"
Frankie saw the light dim in Gee's pretty hazel/green eyes, as he turned his head away, hiding in his hair once more.
Frankie sighed. He knew that Gee was upset by what Mikey and Bob did, and said, but he thought he'd managed to cheer him up a bit.. Guess not.
Sliding his hand from Gee's, Frankie wrapped his arm around the taller boys thin shoulders, and pulled him into his side "It's gonna be ok Gee.." He murmured against Gee's soft black hair, feeling him relax against him ".. I'll always be here"
God!.. How Gee prayed that was true....
