Love Never Dies
Chapter 16: My Old Friend
After Frank had left Gerard and Mikey's house, he stopped by his favorite veggie friendly cafe thing, he'd loved as a teenager. It was super cheap, but it was so good. As a teen with little money and a terrible job at Walmart, It'd been the perfect little heaven. The bonus was the comic book store was two little doors down.
Frank spent most of his teen years there or in the cemetery. Truth be told, Frank had been a homeless runaway high school transfer student. He graduated high school, homeless, and finished College with a Masters degree in Music and an apartment.
He'd run away from his mother's home, in Kearny, New Jersey. She'd turned to alcohol and abuse to poor 10 year old Frank, after his father left them when he was 9. Frank had never forgiven his father, but also hated his mother for all the shit she did to him when she would come home with random men, drunk to the core. He ran away when he hit age 13, to Belleville.
He'd transferred schools the day before he'd run away, conveniently. He'd tricked his morther into signing the papers. He got any mail from school sent to the comic book store in Belleville. He'd made quick friends with the manager. Bert McKraken, had been his name.
Everyonce in a while Frank would find Bert on his door step. Over the years Frank and Bert had become the best of friends. Frank hadn't thought about Bert in years. Bert had given Frank his first job at the comic book store. He was greatful to Bert; he would be till the day he died. What Frank didn't know that was Bert was gay... he and Gerard had had a thing some years ago. Gerard had broken up with him, Bert never forgave him.
Frank Iero, the once homeless teen now a head band director of a fairly new school. Proud of his kids, and by name getting around to all the band directors in the state. He was making a name for himself. A 26 year old, bisexual band director, who's life was turned around by a lonely owner of a comic book store.
Anyways, Frank had taken a shower and started up a horror movie marathon with Bert. He wanted to spend sometime with his old friend. Hopefully, it wouldn't be history repeating itself.
