Never Gonna Make It

Locker

When I got home, I rushed up to my room, eager to change out of my soaked clothes and avoid my mom's questioning glare. She was a caring mother-- sometimes too caring-- and I was not in the mood for it.

I carefully peeled the drenched material from my body and enjoyed a long, steamy shower. I stood under the spray, feeling it calm the shivers from earlier that day and sang quietly to myself.

I got out and completed my homework before sketching in my notebook. I had already started a "comic" of sorts-- it was basically a bunch of sketches of a group of kids I liked to call Killjoys. Already, I was beginning to like it and had dreams of publishing them. That and becoming a Killjoy myself. My outfit was all planned out, and someday, I would dress up and be one myself--Party Poison-- and even if it only involved running around with a ray gun, I would enjoy the little experience of it.

After drawing for a few hours, I fell asleep to the sound of the city rain, hoping the next day wouldn't be a disaster.

I got to school late the next day, taking too long skipping around puddles. Why did the rain never seem to never stop?

I approached the dreaded grey double-doors and carelessly swung one open just as the tardy bell rang for first period. Cursing to myself, I approached my locker and twisted in my combo.I threw the door open and a boy about my age came tumbling out.

I stepped back and examined the poor creature struggling on the floor. His hair was black and curled at the ends, framing his perfectly smooth face and prominent jaw. He was actually really fucking cute. And he seemed to have the same problems as I did. Cool!

I reached out a hand and helped him up. He stood up and brushed himself off, straightening his red tie and smoothing his crinkled sweater.

He looked up at me with an adorable sideways smile. "Thanks, man! I thought I'd be trapped in there forever!"

I gave him a shy smile back and replied with a meek, "No problem."

He just giggled and patted my back gently. He said, "Well, see ya around!" before casually picking up his bag and strolling away.

I sure as hell hoped to see him around.

Notes

Chapter 2! Welp i hope this will turn out alright. I'm hoping to base it more on the I'm Not Okay video, but with a large handful of personal touches.
