Gerard's P.O.V

I saw the relief on everyone's faces as they ran to hug Bob. Frank grabbed me and pulled me into his arms.
"I was really worried about you." He said as he rested his head on my shoulder.
"Where were you?" Mikey asked.
I froze up and leaned against the wall. I have to tell them and Bob. Bob doesn't even know about mum. I push away from the wall and Frank. I head for the kitchen. I take out a bottle of water from the fridge, shaking as I chugged it down.
"Gerard?" Mikey said. I turned to see them all staring at me with concern.
"Sit down." I told them all.
After we were all sat at the table, me at the head with Frank and Mikey either side of me. Everyone watching me. I looked at Bob.
"Mum said don't give up on the drums."
Bob's face dropped. "What?"
I tried to keep the tears in. I have to be strong. "She said your a lovely boy and she loves you."
Bob shook his head. "She's not.....?"
I nod. "And Maria is a..." I stop, looking at Ray and biting my bottom lip.
Ray closed his eye's, briefly. Then nodded his head at me.
I looked back at Bob. "...zombie. " I finish. "Also...Mark and Grace are...." I looked at Ray and Mikey. They were close to tears. "They didn't make it." Ray burst into tears. Mikey pulled him into his arms. I looked at Bob. He was close. Mark and Grace were his Dad and Gran. So now he was a orphan, just like me, Mikey and Ray.
"Who would do this?" Bob asked, shakily.
I froze up. Suddenly angry. "Better Living Industries." I snapped. All eye's turned to me.
"Gerard?" Linda said.
I looked at her. "I heard them at the hospital." I told her. "They wear masks. The ones with a black circle on are volunteers. The one's with a black and white vampire style masks are called Draculoids. They are forced. The mask has a chip in liquid that changes them. If you remove the mask, they die."
Everyone stared at me open mouthed.
"Another thing." I said, looking around at each of them. "That Korse is a machine from the scarecrow unit. I don't know what that is. But he looks human. He knows faces. He knows me. I'm a outlaw apparently. But he doesn't recognise me with the mask on. He's looking for everyone who's not accounted for. Especially anyone who is known to have been seen with me. He knows names too. But not our Killjoy names. So we have to get used to calling eachother by them." I look at Bob. "I heard them talking again after you left for a bathroom break." I told him. Then I look back at Linda. "We have to give you a different name. I think if you don't mind, we'll just call you...Dark Horse. Because of your dark hair."
She smiled. "I like that."
I looked at Mikey. "I won't let them hurt you, bruv." I tell him. "I promise. I'd die for you. You know that."
He jumped up and threw his arm's around my neck. I hugged back.

Bob's P.O.V

I watched as Gerard hugged Mikey. I knew he would find me. There was never a doubt in my mind. He's my hero. I know how that sounds. But I'm not gay. I'm not. Who the fuck am I kidding? I've been lying to myself for years. I'm bi. But there's only one guy I really want to be with. I'd told him once too. But he didn't feel the same. He was great about it though. He never told anyone. Everyone thinks I'm straight. It looks like I'll never be with him now. From the way Frank's looking at him and his hand on his knee. Gerard is with Frank. When the fuck did that happen? Why couldn't Gerard be with me? Fuck. I always miss out on the best ones.
